First, Lighty does not do her homework. Her paralegals do everything. She prepares for her court appearances by reviewing the file while waiting her turn to be called up. She dresses in provocative clothing and behaves with the other lawyers in and out of the courtroom as if it's a daily social event instead of representing her client's best interests. Her paralegals and receptionist are rude with little to no patience for basic questions or concerns and this is probably because they do the lion's share of the work and are exhausted. I was not kept informed and then everything would start rolling again once I called to ask about my case. Took almost 2 years for my divorce to finalize because of the constant high conflict instigated by her and my spouse's attorney. It was like an ongoing fight between the two of them while clients and children suffered in the background. I asked repeatedly to use mediation techniques and was not heard. I didn't realize how she had wrapped me up in the conflict until my divorce was over and I was able to step aside from all of it. Wouldn't recommend her to anyone.
The initial estimate for our case was far lower than the actual costs. We had to call her office many times to find out the status of our case. We did not feel as though she was OUR advocate, as much as she was a "fellow" lawyer with opposing counsel.
