About Me

James D. Howsley joined Miller Nash in 2004. He concentrates his practice on land use, environmental permitting, and natural-resource permitting in both Washington and Oregon. Jamie was recognized in the Vancouver Business Journal’s "40 Under 40" in 2002 (in the inaugural class). He is also listed in Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals, 2006-2007 edition. Jamie has been practicing law since 2001.

Jamie is a member of the Washington and Oregon bars. He is a member of the young lawyers division in Washington and Oregon in several sections, including Oregon Real Estate and Land Use, Oregon Environmental, Oregon Constitutional, Washington Land Use and Environmental, and Washington Real Estate and Probate. He is also a member of the Multnomah and Clark County bar associations.

Jamie serves on the government affairs committee for the Building Industry Association of Southwest Washington (BIASW). He is a member of the BIASW and the Responsible Growth Forum. Jamie also serves on the Government Camp Tax Increment Finance Committee.

Jamie has served on the City of Vancouver habitat ordinance committee, the Camas critical area ordinance work group, and the Clark County wetlands ordinance work group. Currently, he is serving on the Salmon Creek moratorium task force and is a member of the Clark County stormwater ordinance committee. He is a precinct person for the Democratic Party in northeast Portland and is involved with the Sigma Chi Portland Alumni Chapter and University of San Diego Portland Alumni Chapter. Also, he is a member of the Vancouver Rotary Club.
