I met Ms. Retsinas when a child custody case was referred out of Washington to my legal aid office in Phoenix. It involved domestic violence, as well as a dispute over which State should exercise child custody jurisdiction under the UCCJEA. We had to coordinate our efforts to ensure our mutual client's protection in both States.
