About Me

I am a collaboratively trained lawyer, mediator and settlement advocate practicing in Washington and Oregon. I no longer accept clients who with to litigate their disputes in court.

I am committed to peaceful conflict resolution for families in transition, as I have seen first-hand through my litigation practice the results of chronic conflict on children and adults alike.

Collaborative law allows family members in the midst of conflict to negotiate a settlement without going to court. Collaborative Law changes the culture of conflict resolution by allowing individuals to take control of their future as opposed to leaving decision–making about their lives to a judge. Take a look at this website for more information about collaborative law:

I endorse this lawyer's work. Ms. Retsinas is trustworthy and easy to work with. She is very experienced and knowledgeable. She is a skilled listener and thoughtful negotiator. I am always glad to hear when she is representing the other party because I know that it will be a smooth process. I send my tough cases to her because is is such an effective attorney and compassionate advocate for her clients.

I endorse this lawyer's work. Nancy is a trainer and practitioner in an exciting new approach to family cases: Collaborative Law. This offers families, especially those with children, a better way to work together to find agreed solutions that will serve their needs far better than those imposed in court. Nancy has the vision and energy to work with other like minded attorneys and professionals who want to help offer familes much better solutions than the traditional litigation model. I would enthusiastically recommend Nancy to any clients with cases in either Vancouver or Portland.
