Endorsement: When I first learned of Avvo, I knew that I would have to limit my endorsements to just a few peers, and that I would not engage in any collegial "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" reciprocity when it came to endorsements. If lawyers start to swap endorsements the whole process would become meaningless. I also knew that Paul Battan would be one of the few lawyers I would endorse. He is an excellent attorney who provides excellent representation for his clients. Paul is organized, methodical, thoughtful, intelligent, conscientious, kind, and ethical. He has earned the respect of his peers. I also know from personal interaction with Paul that he has that one indispensable attribute of a good lawyer--his clients matter to him. It sounds trite, but he cares. Too many lawyers just go through the motions, but Paul wrestles with legal problems as though his fate were inextricably linked with that of his client. That makes an exceptional advocate.
