Beverly Ibsen is a graduate of Seattle University School of Law (Cum Laude) and began her practice of law in 2010. Since 2010, her practice has focused on contested family law cases including high conflict custody disputes. Beverly has specific training and experience with representing victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. She has helped clients navigate some of the most challenging issues including domestic violence, substance addiction, and child abuse.
Beverly has a professional and caring advocacy style. She values civility and professionalism and maintains good relationships with her colleagues in the family law and broader Puget Sound legal community. At the same time, Beverly recognizes that aggressive litigation is sometimes necessary to protect her clients and the best interests of the children.
Beverly serves as a Captain in the Washington Army National Guard, Office of the State Judge Advocate. In 2013, Beverly graduated from the Direct Commission Course (DCC) at Fort Benning Georgia where she was trained in land navigation, marksmanship, and physical fitness. After DCC, Beverly graduated the Judge Advocate Officer Basic Course where she earned superior marks for client counseling. As a Judge Advocate (JA), Beverly helps Soldiers navigate complex civil legal issues. Beverly also serves as a Special Victims Counsel, providing legal assistance to victims of rape and sexual assault.
Beverly and her husband Anders, a Tacoma City Councilman, own a house in Tacoma and are the proud adoptive “parents” of two rescue-cats.
