Zach Jarvis began his career as a lawyer in 2005 by writing appeals for indigent persons. Through six years in the trenches as a public defender in King County, Zach and his clients enjoyed an atypical streak of trial victories. Prior to becoming a founding partner of Hart Jarvis Chang, Zach had been an associate attorney in a private, predominantly civil practice in South King County.
Zach has been lead or co-counsel on over twenty-six trials. Zach’s experience in criminal, civil, and appellate practice runs the spectrum from representing a man accused of murder to representing plaintiffs in suits against employers and government actors. Zach is proud to have always represented individuals against powerful entities.
While in law school, Zach participated in both mock trial and the arts law clinic. As a law student, he also studied abroad in India. When away from the office Zach enjoys movies of all eras, drawing, going to concerts, and spending time with his wife and young son. He has has travelled extensively throughout Northern Europe, Asia, and Mexico.

Zachery Jarvis has a breadth of legal experience, encompassing civil as well as criminal law. He has worked as a trial attorney and as an appellate attorney. This experience gives him an advantage over lawyers who may have more years of practice but who lack his diverse legal background. Zach is dedicated to doing a good job for his clients while remaining ethical and professional in his dealing with other parties.

The first word that comes to mind when I think of Zach is "intensity." When he is working, he is 100% focused and nothing can distract him. Yet, his intensity is very much balanced by his friendly and warm demeanor in his day to day interactions with co-workers, staff and opposing counsel. He has great empathy for all his clients. He examines his cases from all possible angles, and he is not afraid to take actions that advance his clients' cases. That explains why he has enjoyed large number of trial wins that included what was initially thought to be "hopeless" by other lawyers. I am proud to have him as my colleague.
