His successful fight to free Barry Beach, a wrongfully convicted inmate in Montana was featured on NBC Dateline.  His successful representation of Clyde Ray Spencer a former police officer who was given a life sentence for child rape was featured by ABC 20/20. In 2009 he was awarded the William O. Douglas award by the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers for "extraordinary courage and dedication to the practice of criminal law."
