About Me

Mike counsels clients on ERISA and tax matters and leads the litigation practice area at Song Mondress, including acting as counsel in complex class action ERISA cases. His role in the firm's counseling practice includes trust and fiduciary prudence and loyalty analysis regarding private and governmental plans, plan design to comply with ERISA and tax qualification requirements, benefit appeals, procedural prudence, and resolving subrogation issues for self-funded health plans. He also advises clients on federal legislation issues such as COBRA, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.

Mike has spoken at continuing education seminars for attorneys, plan trustees, and other plan professionals, and has served as an arbitrator in ERISA claim litigation.
