When living through the recession of 2008 - 2010, the increasing debt and fear of the future leaves normal people with a feeling of paralysis. I retained Matthew Anderson as he was highly recommended from a friend. I was not able to get caught up on my mortgage payments, and the foreclosure sale on my Snohomish county home of 12 years was only a couple days away. He was able to stop the foreclosure on grounds of new legislation, force the lender into mediation, and work out a feasible payment plan. Matthew provided excellent communication and provided verbal and written updates on a regular basis. The final deal with the lender was extraordinary. I highly recommend Matthew Anderson!
The Law Offices of Matthew Anderson LLC is an exceptional bankruptcy and real estate firm.
We were caught in the Banking and Mortgage fiasco that began in 2008. We stopped paying our mortgage 4-5 years ago. There were several broken modification promises and at least 9 broken legal procedures that drove our decision to seek legal counsel.
Working with Matthew Anderson and his team, we were the receipt of 4 different (and at different times) modification offers. We reached agreement on one of those offers, and has put us on a solid pathway to debt reduction and eventual “above water" equity position.
Matthew Anderson and team not only know the law and act in a timely fashion but are especially gifted in innovative solutions to legal issues. Conventional approaches are definitely used, but the firm's creative strategies or said another way "thinking outside the box" approaches clearly improved the odds of success.
We are grateful to have our house back with an affordable mortgage. We plan on using the firm in the future.
No doubt I would have given up the fight if I had not had the backing of Matthew Anderson. I don't know anyone else who after five years of not paying their mortgage ended up keeping their house. I attribute this to the perseverence that Matthew Anderson's team provided me. Sometimes the little guy wins! Thanks Matthew and Austin!
Matthew helped me through my bankruptcy with expert knowledge and direction. He was easy to work with and very personable. I had every confidence in him throughout the process and the outcome was exactly what we wanted. He did an excellent job and I am forever grateful to have had Matthew working for my best interest. He really cares for his clients and it shows.
I have 6 rental houses. All underwater. I went to multiple attorneys to look into filing a Chapter 11 (I'm not eligible for a Chapter 13), but couldn't find anyone who seemed reasonably affordable and willing to help me. After several years searching and several failed loan modification attempts I filed a Chapter 7 in 2012.
My case went very quickly and the attorney I was working with advised to call the banks once it was closed and tell them to foreclose on the houses taking them back. As I waited for the inevitable I ran into Matt's Lawfirm. That's when things got much better.
I have since successfully completed loan modifications on 5 of the 6 properties with Matt's guidance and we are in some great discussions about whether or not I should file a Chapter 11 or not. Matt has a unique skillset at explaining very complex situations in ways that non experts can understand as I am now married and my wife like Matt's explanations much better than mine.
I have worked with many different attorneys over the years and am active in Real Estate investing. I whole heartedly recommend Matt and his unique ability to advocate for property owners through complex loan modifications and Chapter 11s.
Matthew is very knowledgeable and kept working for us to obtain a loan modification we could afford. He kept us informed of our case and was quick to respond to our questions. He knows the ins and outs of real estate law and he works hard to find the best solution for you. We would recommend Matthew to anyone who is finding it difficult to pay their mortgage and wants to stay in their house.
there isn't enough words to express how wonderful attorney Matthew Anderson and his office staff is,

We were about to be evicted because the Big Corp Banks did not want to work with us any more. We tried all the new save your house modifications and nothing. Then we found Matthew. We have been working with him since March 2013. Since then we have discharged all our debt and stopped the eviction threat for the time being. We are still in the house, unfortunately we eventually will have to give the house back to the bank, but we will still have a win against big business thanks to Matthew. The bank had miss stepped and Matt caught it. He is a true professional. He has my recommendation for hire. Thanks Matt!!! Best Regards, TH
I’ve always been a very financially secure person, however when the housing market crashed and some unforeseen family issues arose, I had to make the very difficult decision whether keeping our new home (purchased a month before the market crash) made financial sense. Our loan was issued by the infamous Countrywide and was so poor that after its value dropped by over $500,000, all I felt we were doing was throwing good money after bad. Not wanting to relocate the family and lose our home, I reached out to Matthew Anderson in an effort to renegotiate the loan and bring it in line with the current market. No one was willing to refinance a jumbo loan with the value so far underwater. Matthew spent countless hours working with me and the bank detailing out what options were available. I won’t deny that there were points of stress and frustration, as the bank dragged their feet and the process seemed to be going nowhere, however Matthew kept encouraging me that things were looking positive and to be patient. During the negotiation, the bank attempted to deny a modification and was found by the mediator to be failing to negotiate in good faith. In the next 30 days, the bank agreed to a modification that allowed us to keep our home. Did we get everything we wanted, no, but when I spoke to a couple of senior people in a bank mortgage department, they were shocked with the offer we received, stating “No one is getting loans like this today for the size and rate you received.” This was only due to the hard work and persistence Matthew had to ensure the bank followed the law. Even if you feel your making too much to obtain a modification, or your home’s value is outside of the government’s qualification, don’t hesitate to reach out to Matthew before it’s too late. He was the only lawyer I could find that didn’t try to promise unreasonable changes. He set expectations based upon what the law would allow, and understood not only real estate, but also banking laws and the new mortgage modification laws. Without him I would not be in my home today.
I found Matthew through the same firm as my successful loan modification. He was cordial & easy to work with & we were very soon up to speed with really great strategies that helped me relieve debt and keep my home at a fantastically low cost. I had never done a bankruptcy. He replaced my anxiety with a relaxed confidence. I was amazed at the low cost of the process compared with amount of debt relieved. Matthew is a great person & now a friend. A friend who happens to be a Financial Champion.
