Okay, First off, if your checking out these reviews, I know where you are and what your going through! I was freaking out when I got my DUI. I was just not prepared for what was going to happen next. Its a very emotional ride. If your like me you kinda have a lot of regret and feel like a failure. For me i was one month away from getting married, already strapped for cash, and the thought of paying more money to hire a lawyer, well seemed almost out of the question. Needless to say it was a lot of unwanted and extra stress.
I wasn't sure were to go who to see so i just started seeing everyone. I visited about half a dozen or so lawyers before i meet with Geoff. I talked to a few over the phone and meet with some at their office. Most lawyers will offer you a free consolation. The purpose is for you to tell them about your case and have them kinda see if they can help you. Let me tell you something about lawyers, you need to meet them in person. I am a very firm believer especially after going through what i have that you can't get a good read from an over the phone consultation. I was about to hand over a huge chuck of money to someone, and well frankly i wanted to feel like they deserved my money. I felt like I wasn't as important to them when they just talked to me over the phone. A few places I went to the staff were not very friendly and basically made me feel even worse. Like i was burdening them with my problem. So, my advice to you make sure to meet in person and look around a little when your there how do the staff act and how do they treat you. Thats one thing that really impressed me about Geoff hes the kinda guy that you really want on your side. His staff and office was very inviting, I felt at ease and that they really cared about what had happened to me and that they would do what they could to help me out. He told me up front what to expect in terms of what he felt were our options. One thing I'd also like to say is keep an open mind that they are just Lawyers and cant promise you anything. However, they also do this day in day out and if your telling them the real facts they can put it together and give you a pretty good accurate idea of what your best hope is. He definitely has a lot of knowledge in his field and from the court dates i went to i could tell he has a very good work relationship with the judges and deafens attorneys. Let me tell you that is a good thing. people take Geoffrey L Burg very seriously. The one thing that i'd like to have you think about is when i meet other lawyers they were very quick to tell me about them how successful they were what school they went to and so on. The thing about it is i didnt care i wanted to hear them tell me how they were going to help me get through this thing and what they could do to help. Thats one thing that really stuck out on the day that i meet with Geoff he didn't try and sell me himself. The best thing off all that i can say is I got exactly what i wanted. I love the fact that if i did have a question and asked by either calling or emailing withing an hour i would get a response very prompt and very punctual. . If you haven't meet with Burg you'd better he'll change your life.

Geoff is by far the best lawyer I've ever worked with. He's obviously well respected and knows the community. He's extremely good communicator; nearly always accessible or very prompt replies. He did an excellent job of setting reasonable expectations of what the process was, helping me get things done before the court forced me to, and listening to my specific concerns verses things I was more flexible on.

In the end, he was able to negotiate a plea that met everyone's needs without having to go to trial.

I was extremely concerned / afraid / worried / stressed after being pulled over and arrested by a State Patrol officer for a DUI after a work celebration. This was my first arrest, so I had no prior experience with the judicial system. I was pretty terrified. If you are reading this review, you are probably also faced with a DUI, and you are probably also terrified like I was, with a number of questions and scenarios running through your head... Keep on reading....

I had preliminary conversations with 5 different lawyers, and Geoffrey Burg put me the most at-ease of all of them and seemed to be the most experienced and trustworthy of all of them. A couple of the people I spoke with, although seemingly experienced, were relatively young in the game.... I know that some of the guys with fewer years may be good (and cheaper), but I felt that it was not worth risking my career or a big red X on my personal (criminal background) record just to save a few dollars by going with one of the less-experienced guys. Geoff had a much longer track record, specifically at DUI defense. Geoff was not the cheapest of the lawyers I looked at, but he was also not the most expensive, and he was certainly worth it!!! I'll get to that in a sec though... (Geoff's website is also EXTREMELY HELPFUL for people who have questions about DUI's in Washington). Geoff just made me feel very at-ease, which was very important to me during this process, and it will be very important to you as well!

After our initial phone conversation, I went to Geoff's office to meet with him in person. **I was very concerned, and am naturally inquisitive, so I asked A LOT OF QUESTIONS!!! Probably more than most!! Geoff answered them All, even the ones I asked him over and over and over again...** Geoff was very easy to talk to, and he very quickly put me at ease about the process, in terms of the fact that, by hiring him, he would make sure that all the deadlines, caveats, and details were covered.

Geoff made it very clear that he could not make any guarantees regarding results. However, he showed me some very impressive stats concerning his results in DUI cases... I am happy to state that the outcome of my case has added one more positive result to Geoff's impressive track record of DUI case results.

Geoff had previously told me that he knows the Judges (as there is a very limited number of judges that handle these cases). When we got to court, I quickly realized that Geoff and the Judge knew each other, as they jokingly exchanged a little bit of banter during the proceedings. Without going into too much detail, I'll say that the outcome of the case was the best outcome that I could have asked for given my scenario. It is pretty much as if it never happened!!!! I feel like there is definitely a benefit to having a lawyer who knows the courts and knows the judges, which is something you might not get when dealing with one of the less-experienced guys. I don't know for certain, as I haven't dealt with those guys, but I personally did not want to risk it.

So to summarize, I cannot stress how relaxed Geoff made me feel throughout the process. Geoff was quick to respond to any email I sent him, even on the weekend. He was extremely thorough with everything pertaining to the case. And although Geoff did not make me any promises going in, he delivered the results that I was hoping for! Going through the phone book, you'll no-doubt encounter a few guys who are cheaper than Geoff, but I think they are cheaper for a reason (i.e. they don't have the credentials and track record that Geoff does). For me, the experience, the assurance, and the results I got from using Geoff re-confirmed in my mind why I chose him to defend me.

Although I hope to never require Geoff's services again, I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for excellent, thorough, and experienced DUI defense!

My previous experience with a lawyer was not a pleasant one. I felt that my case did not get the attention that it deserved. So when I got arrested a second time I was very cautious in hiring the right person for my case. After going through the legal process for a second time I know that Geoffrey Burg was exactly the type of lawyer I was looking for.
While working with Mr. Burg I felt that my case got the individual attention that it needed. There were many complex questions that my family and I had through the whole process and Geoff did a great job of handling them all. After getting a 2nd DUI (.088) in 4 years, I was in need of some serious counsel. Geoff came highly recommended-- and for good reason.

I'd recently graduated from a 4 year university, and secured a dream job in my field. So the DUI was devastating to say the least. Upon meeting with Geoff, we assessed and discussed the individual circumstances of my case. He took into consideration my character and expectations and together we were able to build a case that worked for me. I had certain goals *cough* not going to jail! Geoff was upfront with me. He explained to me the reality of the situation, and what I needed to do to have a chance. It was a lot of hard work. It took some time, several continuances. But well worth it.

First of all, he was able to get my breath-test thrown out; I never lost my license. And after finally getting in front of the judge, I pled guilty to reckless driving! What? Yeah.

Geoff is an excellent lawyer. He will treat you with respect, and he will be honest.

Geoff helped me out so much. I would recomend him to anyone.

Mr. Burg did an outstanding job with my case and was able to reach our goal of dismissing many of the charges. He always kept me up to speed on everything and gave me personal updates by phone instead of just sending me information by mail or email. I would recommend him for any case and plan on using him in the future (although hopefully i wont need to).

I would highly recommend Geoffrey Burg. Geoffrey handled my case effectively and efficiently and achieved the best possible results given my situation. Mr. Burg's experience and expertise in his field allowed me to consider all options before taking the appropriate course of action. Prior to retaining Geoff, I interviewed several acclaimed attorneys who handle similar cases. When I asked them, “If you were in my situation, who would you chose for representation?” Unanimously Geoff was singled out. Geoff is an amazing lawyer. A good friend recommended him and it was the best decision I made. He's very understanding. His knowledge of the law and what to expect makes you feel very comfortable from the very beginning. He was able to reduce my charges dramatically.

I know how you feel and I am sorry you are faced with finding a lawyer to represent you. The seriousness of a DWI can follow you for the rest of your life not to mention the immediate impacts it will have on your life. All circumstances are different in DWI cases and while there are no “guarantees” I am grateful to Geoff for not once but twice helping me through a difficult time. He was very successful in representing me and I know he will get you the best possible outcome. His knowledge of the law is unsurpassed. I would recommend Geoff to anyone facing charges of a DWI. For me I was facing loosing my job which would have had terrible ripple effects, jail time, fines, suspended drivers license, high risk auto insurance and more. I did not loose my job or driving privilege, my fines could have been more severe. The outcome that Geoff made possible in my case(s) made me feel overwhelmingly successful, lucky and grateful. Geoff is not the cheapest Attorney but in the case of representing you in the Court of Law, I have found, you do get everything you pay for. You’re in a difficult time and I hope you have good representation because you’re going to need it.

In August of 2007, I was unfortunately arrested for a DUI by the Seattle police. After interviewing many attorneys, I hired Geoff Burg to handle my case. Over the months that followed of going through the court process, Mr. Burg was able to get my DUI charge reduced to a ‘Negligent-1‘. As people will find out when being charged with a DUI, not only will you have to contend with the court system, but you will also have to deal with “Department Of Licensing,” who can independently suspend your license (and in most cases do) regardless of any outcome with the court. I was very happy when Geoff prevailed in my hearing with the Department Of Licensing, with no suspension of my driving privileges.

Six months later in February of 2008, I’m not happy to admit that I received a second DUI by the Seattle police. I once again hired Mr. Burg to handle my case and he managed to get the DUI dismissed completely with the court, and he once again prevailed with the Department Of Licensing hearing, with absolutely no consequence to me.

While going through the court process two times with Mr. Burg, I came to learn that he is also well respected by the Judges and Prosecuting Attorney’s office. I believe this can be very important in the decision making process on the court’s part. We as people, all tend to subjectively do more for those who we like and respect in this world, and I’m sure that other attorneys with less admiration and influence may not have received the same outcome that Mr. Burg was able to obtained for me.

Finding myself in legal trouble was traumatic, to say the least, but the moment I walked into Geoffrey Burg’s office his demeanor put me at ease. I interviewed other attorneys and chose Mr. Burg because of his track record, professionalism, and likeable nature. These qualities proved infallible when my case went to trial where he represented me eloquently to the jury. He always kept me informed and was available by phone or email any time I needed him. I was in a really bad situation where I felt guilty until proven innocent, and if it wasn't for Geoff's having even more knowledge of the law then the judge did, and his great white shark like agression. I probably would've been found guilty of something I didn't do. Thanks Geoff!
