Avi Joshua Lipman

About me

I am a trial attorney at McNaul Ebel Nawrot & Helgren PLLC, where I represent plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation, employment, professional malpractice, insurance, criminal defense, and business disputes. I have appeared regularly as first chair counsel in numerous proceedings, including jury trials, arbitrations, appeals, and mediations.

I previously taught trial advocacy and practiced at the Georgetown University Law Center. Before joining McNaul Ebel, I spent five years as a criminal defense attorney, during which time I tried numerous cases before juries in Washington, D.C. and Seattle.

  • Daniel Kalish

As a former prosecutor, I worked against Avi Lipman on several occasions. I knew I had my work cut out for me whenever Avi was on the other side. Avi is very intelligent, extremely hardworking, and tenacious in obtaining a positive outcome for his client. Avi will be one of the great litigators in Washington for years to come, and I would endorse him without hesitation to anyone needing the services of a great trial lawyer.

  • Daron George Morris

During the two years I worked with Avi at The Defender Association he demonstrated himself to be a very intelligent and zealous advocate, both for his clients and his co-workers. Avi's dedication was most evident when, on a very serious homicide case, his thorough investigation convinced the prosecuting attorney of his client's likely innocence, resulting in an outright dismissal. Avi's reputation as a highly persuasive and scrupulous attorney is well earned.
