About Me

Bryan gained considerable courtroom experience representing clients in criminal proceedings.  While he never anticipated his career would take him into criminal defense, he values the experience.  “I learned to think on my feet, to present cases before both judges and juries.”  In a legal environment where only select civil cases make it into the courtroom, few personal injury attorneys have much courtroom experience under their belt.  “To be able to take the fight to the next level, and feel comfortable doing it, is something so invaluable to me, and my clients.”

Increasingly, the utilization of skillful negotiation is critical to obtaining the best possible outcome for injured people.  Even before becoming an attorney, Bryan developed valuable dispute resolution skills as a licensed mediator with the State of Oregon.  Later, Bryan hammered out deals with hard-nosed, and entrenched prosecutors. Bryan understands the issues at the heart of disputes and is capable of facilitating solutions meeting his client’s needs.  With fewer civil and personal injury cases being litigated in the courtroom, Bryan’s considerable experience in negotiations is a highly valued and utilized skill. However, when the opposing party is unwilling to budge, he is prepared to go to trial for his clients.

Bryan is dedicated to the protection and representation of personal injury victims.  An active member of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice, Bryan believes in fighting for civil justice and insurer accountability.  His paper, Medical Malpractice: Litigation, Investments, and Insurance Industry Cycles, exposes the deceit medical malpractice insurers have levied on the public and their doctors for years—blaming injury victims and their attorneys for exorbitant increases in physician medical malpractice premiums.

Utilizing econometric regression analysis, Bryan proved that insurers themselves were responsible, through poor investment practices, for disproportionately high premiums they charge to doctors.  By misleading the public that the cause of the malpractice rates are due to greedy lawyers, they have obtained improper profits while turning doctors and the public against lawyers who are protecting the public.

Bryan grew up in the Willamette Valley.  He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon graduating Magna Cum Laude and with Departmental Honors.  Bryan later graduated from Lewis & Clark Law School. In law school, Bryan was honored with the “Best Appellate Brief” award.  The following year, he served as President of the Student Trial Lawyers Association and was selected to the prestigious Environmental Law Review, one of the top law reviews in the Country.  The following year, Bryan served as Managing Editor of the Journal’s online publication.

Bryan is licensed to practice in Oregon and Washington State.

When outside the office Bryan is rarely idle.  Though he resides in NW Portland with his furry companion “Kodi”, he is more than likely enjoying the great outdoors.  On weekends in the winter, you’re likely to find him careening down the mountain; in the summer, riding through the Gorge on his bike or seeking out the perfect slip of water.  When weather forces him indoors, he enjoys working with his hands—rebuilding vintage cars and motorcycles.
