Janel Leann Potter is a very untrustworthy person. She comes across, in the begining, as a caring lawyer. However, our experience was very frightening! This person is presently under review for misconduct. She slipped up and gave us a story. My father is an attorney in another state, he was able to view what she is under investigation for...She pushed me to pay her, which I did, hoping that She would take us in the right direction, but was not willing to give the time I needed to have a few simple questions answered. I became frustrated, and she laughed at me and stated "This is the way it works. You may not like it, but it is what it is." I Was Appalled! Once I learned that she had verbally assaulted a person who is handicapped, I had to change lawyers. I have a handicapped child. This is not the type of hypocrite that I care to represent myself and my children. I have lost my retainer, but I now have a very reputable lawyer to protect the interests of my family. Thank You.
I am more than angry that an attorney can legally charge you for doing zero work and then threaten to sue you if you don't pay. The dealiings with this attorney were just bad from the get go but that didn't stop me from paying almost $1800. I got my issue fixed eventually with another counsel. If you go this route I hope your experience is better than mine.
This lawyer failed to keep me informed, led me down a path that wasn't productive and essentially wasted almost a thousand dollars and much time. I went to a more knowledgeable lawyer and got things done in one appointment. My suggestion would be to go with experience.
