About Me

I am licensed to practice law in Oregon, Washington, and California.  My hobbies include trail riding with my Appaloosa ("Joey"), fishing, skeet shooting, crossword puzzles and working on the family ranch in California during "time-off" from work.  I have three sons and am married to my college sweetheart (nearly 21 years. Although I have been licensed to practice law since 1993, I shifted my law practice to focus exclusively on education and disability law-related issues when one of my sons was diagnosed with a disability.

  • Tyler Douglas Smith

I highly recommend Lana. I researched education and special needs attorneys for a series of major litigation issues we had potentially coming before a number of clients from a school. Lana was perfect for the job. Her compassion, passion and insight into education law was an awesome fit for the team. I relied on her knowledge on the education law pieces and she worked well with me on the pieces I controlled. I would team up with her again any day.
