About Me

I love the law, and I love helping people.

I retired in 2003, but after earning another law
degree and teaching at the local law school, I decided that I liked practicing
law more than "retirement," so I returned to practice in 2005.

I limit my practice to just a few clients at a
time.  This way, I can provide
individual attention to each client and ensure that I do the work, not some
paralegal or junior lawyer. My goal is to take a few cases and "work the
heck" out of each one.

Most of my clients have never worked with a lawyer
before.  People call me because
they are suffering from some trouble. I pride myself on being accessible: my
clients phone me when they have questions, and I give them the time they need.

My specialty is civil litigation, which I have been
doing since 1984, when I served in the Oregon Department Justice for a one-year
term in its "Honors Program."
Since then, I've worked with and against the best lawyers in the country
on some of the most complex cases seen in Oregon.

These days, I continue to work on personal injury cases, employment law
cases, legal and medical malpractice cases and other civil litigation cases if
I think I can help the person and, frankly, if I like the person.

If you think you have an Oregon case, I'd be pleased to talk with you, and we can decide if we are a good match: 503-665-4234.
