About Me

My practice is divided between the representation of government contractors and the representation of employers in labor and employment matters. 


 


[a] Representation of government contractors - As a condition of contracting with the government, companies are subject to a variety of legal obligations.  In particular, federal contractors and subcontractors are subject to regulations enforced by the OFCCP (the US Department of Labor's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs).  The OFCCP has responsibility for enforcing the non-discrimination and affirmative action obligations that apply to federal contractors and subcontractors.  My practice in this specialized are includes:




  • representing contractors during OFCCP compliance audits (responding to notices of desk audits, guiding contractors through onsite audits, advocating for contractors in the conciliation process);



  • advising contractors regarding obligations under Executive Order 11246, Section 503 of Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and VEVRAA; and



  • assisting contractors with the design and implementation of affirmative action plans.



 


[b] Representation of employers in labor and employment matters - As labor and employment counsel, I both advise employers on employment law matters and defend employers in employment litigation.  My advice work covers the full field of employment law issues, including but not limited to:




  • ADA and similar state laws (reasonable accommodaton counseling, fitness for duty evaluations, and undue hardship analyses);

  • family leave counseling;

  • wage and hour advice;

  • military leave issues; and

  • personnel policies and practices.



My litigation defense work has resulted in numerous summary judgment and appellate victories.
