Biography
Matt is a native Oregonian who believes in making time for his community, particularly the youth of Portland. Matt currently volunteers as a mentor for High School students at Minds Matter, a Portland non-profit organization dedicated to the enhancement of youth education. Matt is also a devoted supporter of animal rights and regularly volunteers his time at the Oregon Humane Society. He has previously worked with the Oregon Law Students Public Interest Fund and the Loan Repayment Assistance Program at the University of Oregon School of Law, as well as the Lane County Legal Aid and Advocacy Center.
Before joining Stahancyk, Kent & Hook, Matt gained valuable courtroom experience in the Lane County District Attorney's Office as a court certified Law Clerk who maintained his own cases. He has also prepared complex civil litigation in the Trial Division of the Oregon Department of Justice, and previously worked hands-on in family law at the the Domestic Violence Clinic in Eugene.
