About Me

First and formost I am a family man. I've been married to my lovely wife Shelly for nearly 39 years, we have four children and seven granchilldren.Prior to starting the practice of law in 2008, I was a Director of Human Resources for 13 years in two large Oregon school districts. Before that I was a school principal for 13 years at middle and elementary schools in Oregon and a special education director for 4 years. From 1995 to the present I have been a school labor negotiator representing school boards with their unions and handling employment investigations and disputes.   In 2004 I won the World Championship of Public Speaking in Toastmasters International and have put my speaking skills to work in courtrooms and administrative practice. I have always been a lifelong learner having earned a PhD, Masters Degree, and two bachelor degrees in addition to my law degree.

Oregon State Bar: House of Delegates April 21, 2015-April 16, 2018.

Admitted to Practice In:

Calfifornia State Court                                             Oregon State Court

Eastern District Federal Court California            Oregon District Federal Court

Northern District Federal Court California

Central District Federal Court California

I am an advocate for my clients. I have no difficulty standing up for what is right regardless of the size of our opponents.  I primarily do employment defense work, but occasionally represent plaintiffs when the issue interests me.  I also represent professionals when their professional license is in jeopardy either through discipline or license revocation. I have done appellate work in unemployment cases and practice in both Oregon and California, state and federal courts.

Our law practice motto is, "Melius Invictum" meaning, "Better Victorious."  It is also my family motto going back generations.
