Aerin C. Murphy joined Murphy, Campbell, Alliston & Quinn as an associate attorney in 2014. Her practice focuses on representing public entities in matters involving power theft and damage to public property. She also defends public entity clients in personal injury and property damage cases. In addition, Ms. Murphy represents railway clients, particularly defense of Federal Employers’ Liability Act (F.E.L.A.) claims.
In 2014, Ms. Murphy and Suzanne Nicholson started the firm’s Wine Law and Craft Brewery Law practice areas. They advise clients in these industries on regulatory compliance, business formation, contracts, employment issues, and copyright and trademark matters.
Prior to joining Murphy Campbell, Ms. Murphy worked at a Folsom firm where she represented clients in the railway field, insurance carriers, businesses, and individuals in all aspects of civil litigation. Prior to that, she was an associate at a mid-size firm in Nashville, where she assisted in the representation of national media companies in labor relations matters. Ms. Murphy has assisted in representation on a variety of legal issues, including lender liability, real estate, personal injury, wrongful death, and intellectual property.
Ms. Murphy earned her Juris Doctorate with Distinction in 2012 from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, graduating with honors and as a member of the Traynor Honors Society. She received a concentration in intellectual property law, and a certificate in trial advocacy. During law school she competed on two national trial teams, and served as founder and treasurer for the Entertainment Law Association. In addition, she participated in an advocacy clinic, where she represented parolee clients alleged to have violated their parole at administrative hearings. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Law and Society and Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 2008.
She is licensed and practices in California State Courts as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Central Districts of California.
