I had this misfortune of being denied long term disability under a ERISA policy through my former employer. I was terrified I was going to end up on the streets disabled with no where to go since the condition put me down from work and I lost my employment as a result. I was fortunate enough to have been referred to Michelle Roberts who quickly took my case after a review and I received a very fast response and request from the firm to take over my case. I was relieved as within a matter of just days she was diligently gathering information from me and my records to properly respond to to the insurance carrier, CIGNA. She kept me in the look constantly and always provided me with concise instructions on what to do. She wasn't just in it for the money she does care about her clients and their well being but if you want to talk money its well worth the fee she charges. Your going to be in excellent hands with someone who knows this law so good she could fight the insurance literally hands tied behind her back. I've dealt with two other attorney prior to her who left me unknown to what they were doing and thankfully I didn't sign a contract with them they were painfully bad at giving me informaiton and what was going to happen. She made me feel very comfortable knowing that she wasn't going to stop until right was made from wrong. My case was a bad denial issue and she made it right. I won't say exactly what she did but you don't need to know anything other than by time she is through with the insurance company they wont' dare try to take you to court as she will make it where they know they will lose your case against you. Don't mess with ERISA claims and think you can do this alone. You have only one chance to appeal a denial and after that you cannot submit any more evidence. Your playing with your life if you do and Michelle knows that. And that's why you will never regret this endorsement. Pay the money let her do the job. The work that is done is a class act and as I've said before she is the bomb! She will be hired for life to handle my claim from now on!!!

I hired Michelle back in March 2012, to help me with my LTD appeal against Cigna. The first time we spoke over the phone I knew that I could trust her to do her best on my behalf. Every time I e-mailed her or left her a phone message I was comfortable in knowing she would get back to me that same day. Michelle always made me feel like my case was important to her and that she always had time to answer any of my questions or concerns.

Michelle is a superb advocate, and has represented me since 2009. I was a young professional who was diagnosed with a severe chronic medical condition that made me unable to work. Luckily, I carried personal disability insurance. The company refused to acknowledge my disability and would not pay my benefits. Michelle was able to not only prove my case and successfully instill my benefits, but she also was very caring and personable; making sure that I was I was doing okay, with both the stress of the proceedings as well as my health. After the first year of the disability payments the company paying my benefits was able to challenge that my conditions was not permanent and that I would be able to work for some sort of company, even part time. Once again, Michelle prevailed on my behalf and I am now permanently disabled. The insurance company is able to check up on my health every year so I am still in contact with Michelle. I trust Michelle completely for all future work that may pop up. She made what would have been a terrible, unrelenting, and difficult process relatively easy, and her office even contacts your doctors for you. Her office is very personable, efficient and friendly. I will recommend Michelle Roberts as well as her partner Cassie Sullivan whom I worked with while Michelle was out on leave, to any individual in need of an advocate for either ERISA or disability issues. If I had not used Michelle I do not think my life would be possible. Due to her I am receiving my rightful paycheck and able to live day to day without worrying about putting food on the table. I am sincerely grateful to both Michelle and her firm for their success on my behalf. This is the best firm you will find!! I even moved to Sacramento and I still have her as my advocate because I know I cannot find any other that is as supportive, caring, and efficient as Sullivan and Roberts firm.

Michelle has worked tirelessly insofar as I can tell on my case.

I am copying my Yelp review here because the users there found it useful. A current client, I am as enthusiastic about Michelle's work now as I was then!
Here's the thing - my luck with lawyers has traditionally been horrible. (Don't let this discourage you! Read on...)
When I found myself permanently disabled and my employee-sponsored LTD insurance carrier unwilling to pay up, I contacted SSR. I have worked with both Cassie and Michelle on my case, as well as their wonderful staff.
This law office is full of REAL PEOPLE, folks. Members of the community who are just like you and me, except for the fact they know how to help you receive the benefits that you have not only paid for but are entitled to.
Visit their website, give them a call. For ERISA and related issues, this great group pf people is your first and only stop. Thank you Cassie, Michelle and everyone at SSR!

Michelle and her staff are extremely knowledgeable, competent and sensitive to your individual needs. When you NEED an attorny's services, you can not advocate for yourself. She really steps up to the plate and helps you with you case. I highly recommend her for the services you may need.
Do not delay in contacting her since representation delays may complicate your case.

Michelle Roberts was recommended to me from another top lawyer who could not take my case because they were overloaded with cases. I was nervous at first but then after talking with Michelle numerous times, I got the sense that she was not going to lose, and she is tough! She is also very kind, patient, and listened to me when I went through some tough times with appointments. She is quick to answer an e-mail, a phone call, and is good at explaining what is happening with the case.

I was, and continue to be, very pleased with the quality and level of legal advice and service presented by Ms. Roberts. I always felt that she was right there alongside me, advocating on my behalf no matter what the circumstance. She has always been very prompt in her response to any inquiry, and, made herself very accessible to me via phone or e-mail. On occasion, her partner, Cassie Springer-Sullivan, also assisted with my representation. I found her to be supremely qualified as well.

Michelle is a top-notch professional. She is the first attorney I've worked with and have been satisfied with the results.
