also known as Sparks Family Law, Inc., Law Offices of Gary D. Sparks
Helping families achieve the best solutions during difficult times.
The Law Offices of Gary D. Sparks is a full-service family law, divorce and estate planning (and soon-to-include probate) law practice dedicated to helping clients and their families resolve difficult and emotional legal issues during some of the most challenging times in life.
Attorney Gary D. Sparks is a graduate of John F. Kennedy University School of Law, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude at the top of his class. While in law school, Gary clerked for the Family Law court, and was certified by the State Bar of California to engage in the limited practice of law while he was still a student. He worked for several years as a student instructor and thereafter as a teaching assistant at the School of Law, and today continues to privately tutor and mentor law students in their studies and in preparation for the bar exam.
Prior to founding the firm in 2009, Gary was a partner at Holmes, Moore & Sparks, a well-known family law firm in Walnut Creek with a rich, 25+ year history of successful family law advocacy.
Gary has a reputation in the family law community for being firm, yet fair, in dealing with other parties and attorneys. His time clerking for the court has given him valuable insight and experience into the inner workings of our legal system, flawed as it may be.
Gary enjoys legal research and analysis, and practices law from the perspective of a divorced father who learned the legal system firsthand during his own highly contested custody case.
Gary is a member of the State Bar of California, the American Bar Association, the Contra Costa County Bar Association, the Solano County Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and is a former member of the Bay Area Regional Standing Committee of FLEXCOM (Family Law Executive Committee of the State Bar).
Gary is admitted to practice law in all state courts throughout California. Gary is also active in community service, supports public education and is an officer of Acalanes Fellowship F&AM. He openly admits his addiction to golf and bicycling, and continues to be amazed by the intelligence of his dog.
