Practice Area: Personal Injury

Outcome: $80,000 settlement

Description: A woman from Florida was just hired by a local bank was staying at a hotel in Marin. Three days after she started work she woke up to find her body covered with bed bugs that were feeding on her. She was left with hundreds of welts and suffered from a serious allergic reaction. Her injuries were compounded by an unsympathetic supervisor who fired her without offering her leave to recover. An action against the hotel and the bank was filed. The bank attempted to force the matter to arbitration; we defeated that attempt, taking the case to the California First District Court of Appeal. The parties then settled out of court.
