Steven Randall Cummings

This attorney was appointed by the court to handle my appeal on a misdemeanor Fish and Game matter aproximately 4 years ago. I consulted with him twice for a couple hours and gave him all the information I had on both my first trial where there was a hung jury and the second where I was convicted.... I have an open and shut case for appeal and this man has done nothing. He will not take my calls, will not call me back and will not give me back my information on the case, (transcripts etc.). I have went by the office many times. His secretary and/or assistant always say he is not in and do I want to leave a message. I tell them I want the information in my file. One told me my file was in storage. I replyed that it shouldn't be as this is an ongoing case. I don't know what this man's problem is, but he is not an attorney who represents his c lients well. Even though I am not paying him, the county is and he should do his job.

Attorney did not keep track of my case, did not file things on time to the other attorney nor court. Did not have me complete required forms for the court even when I asked him if such forms were needed. Did not represent me, sat like a slug saying nothing. Seems to be a male sympathizer in a divorce..., so bad for women! Loses papers, runs up attorney bills, but with nothing to show for all my money spent. Plays phone tag, and charges $24 just to leave a message on my phone that asks me to call him back. Even when asked to leave me a detailed message, and tell me what I need to do, still just left message saying to call him back. Has poor understanding of divorce laws, how to get health insurance paid, bifurcation. After 2 years with him and $20,000 later, he still has not even attempted to get our assets divided. He is incompetent to get his attorneys fees paid by the other party in the divorce who should have been paying them for the lower earning spouse. I was awarded spousal support, however this attorney forgot about it and had to be reminded that the other party was not paying. 6 Months later, he is still incapable of attaining my court ordered spousal support. He is incompetent, and lazy, and if his wife calls at 5pm while you are meeting him, he must cut you short to get home to dinner with her. Unbelievable! He is unorganized, has no plan, no strategy, and no gumption. I can't believe he is still an attorney, he is washed up, and should retire before he ruins more peoples lives. He cannot handle anything, and is unable to defend in court, because of his ineffective ability to represent someone in court.

I'm not sure what that last person had against Mr. Cummings, but he helped me and I am extremely happy. Divorce is not an easy thing to go through, but it sure helps when you have someone on your side to help you. Everyone is going to have issues, some people who don't get exactly what they demand wi...ll have more. I highly recommand Mr. Cummings!

When I consulted with Mr. Cummings, he assured me he help me with all the issued I presented. He failed to notify me that my court case was cancelled (I had a 5 hour drive to court). He billed me when he cancelled my case because he was in court (which took about a year to resolve). We finally go to ...court and he tells the judge, "We're on talking status". I paid over $1500 for one court session and the judge did'nt hear any of my case. My ex-wife had an aggressive attorney who put everything far in her favor. My ex-wife lied about numerous things. I had proof she was a liar. My ex had no proof and all Mr. Cummings would say was, "Well they said". He never made them prove anything and he never presented my evidence. I called his office numerous times trying to find out the status of my case and all I got was an assistant of his telling me, "These things take time". When he or his office contacted me for any information, I sent it immediately. I told him from day one I wanted resolution. Mr. Cummings represented me for approximately 2 years and nothing was resolved. I spent thousands of dollars for absolutely nothing. In my opinion, Steve Cummings for a reason unknown to me, intentionally failed to represent me. Either that or he is incompetent or lazy.
