  • What can I get punished with

I recently got a citation for criminal threats and its a felony. I'm 17 in Cali and I have to go to juvenile court and this is the first time I had ever gotten in trouble ever in my life time. I didn't mean the threats at all I just said that so ...

    Greg’s Answer

Considering this is the first time you have been arrested it seems unlikely they will put you in custody unless the threat was very real and very specify. Talk yo the public defender and don't admit anything to anyone else, especially the police or probation officers. If that has already happened, again talk up the public defender.

Failing to pay a restitution fine may result in:

    2. Suspension of his license to drive regardless of his ability to pay.
3.Garnishment of wages or tax refunds if the State gets really angry.

Something tells me they will have a different version of things. If you can gather witnesses, video or any other evidence to prove your version you start.

    Greg’s Answer

He has no legal recourse. You both committed the misdemeanor of disturbing the peace by fighting. No battery, no victim, no restitution. His agreement prevents a lawsuit. Tell him to go pound sand or you'll beat him up again. (Kidding about that last part).
