Darryl is a great attorney and good guy all around. He’s a fighter and he will go the extra mile for your case. He helped me handle my incident in Ventura in 2013 & I am very satisfied with the result. Thank you Mr. Genis.

I want to commend Darryl Genis for his professional attitude, the quick service and results that were accomplished. In my case there was a situation of too many traffic violations in a short time frame and Mr. Genis was able to remove two potential fines of my record by appearing in court on my behalf and mitigate the situation in such a way that two dismissals were generated. I am appreciative of of his professional service and can recommend him to anyone in a similar circumstance.

I was referred to Mr. Genis by a friend after I received a DUI from a DUI checkpoint. Mr. Genis broke down how he would attack the case and what I could expect from him, and boy did he deliver. After blowing a .09 and hiring Mr. Genis, he took over the case so that I never had to appear in court, argued regarding how my rights were compromised and bargained with the DA to get my charges down to an infraction! It's no wonder why he is the most effective and sought after DUI attorney in Southern California.

Upon receiving my first DUI, I was terrified. I had never been in any trouble before and felt panic and anxiety set in as I had no idea what to do. I contacted several attorneys in the area, but ultimately I felt as though Mr. Genis was the most prepared to fight for me so that this mistake didn't ruin my future. He handled every aspect of my case with exceptional care and attention and every time I spoke with him or his assistants, I felt reassured. Ultimately Mr. Genis bargained with the DA and I saw more than satisfactory results. Thanks to Mr. Genis, my life was not destroyed by one mistake and I would recommend him a thousand times over.

I hired Darryl Genis after I was stopped at a checkpoint in Santa Barbara. Though I only had a few drinks and my blood alcohol level was low, I knew I was in deep and needed some expert advice. I work as a nurse and thought that I would completely lose my livelihood over this. Darryl is extremely knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable and at ease from the very beginning! He even went above and beyond in helping me with my case with the nursing board. I was able to remain an RN, keep my drivers license intact and he even won a motion that got my blood test evidence thrown out! I could not be happier with the experience I have had with Darryl Genis and his staff!

I utilized a public defender for a DUI in July 2014 and pleaded guilty. In April I was charged with another DUI. This has been hell, the stress and shame have been overwhelming. While I would love nothing more than to just accept my consequences, my responsibilities at home and the potential jail time drove me to consider hiring an attorney to advocate for reduced sentence. I sold all of my vehicles, accept responsibility and am involved in AA. The first attorney I spoke with came across as very busy and offered to go-thru-the-motions in exchange for $3000 (all my savings) but she didn't have time to tell me the benefit of hiring her vs. a public defender. Darryl was in court when I called but he got back to me early afternoon. I explained my situation... and I was blown away. He explained that given the circumstances a public defender would be a better choice. He listened to me fully without interrupting, asked me about my finances and explained that using my last savings to "roll the dice" may not be in my best interests. I was already leaning in the same direction but it was heartwarming to meet someone who wasn't more interested in their own financial gain then the well being of a potential client. This man is diamond amongst the rough. He didn't rush me even when he realized I probably wouldn't become a client... I feel good about the direction I am going now... and in a situation that brings up so much uncertainty, that is worth a 5 star rating. Thank you Darryl. I will keep you in mind if I meet someone who needs help.

In December I was pulled over turning into my community for "expired registration" even though it wasn't but because I am from Nevada our registration sticker is different and the cop thought it was expired. Long story short, because I am under 21 the cop gave me a DUI for .02%. I am a college student who works full time, I know I should't have even had a sip of anything and drive but it happened. I was freaking out because I didn't want my parents to find out and I just wanted to take care of everything myself. I researched all lawyers in Santa Barbara, and Mr. Genis was the ONLY one that wanted to meet me in person. As soon as I met him and we talked, I knew he was the one. He was so caring and generous , he let me know that nothing is 100% but he will do everything he can to help me not loose my license. Through out the whole process Mr. Genis and his assistance have been keeping me informed with everything that is happening with my case. They always reply so quickly, and I couldn't have asked for a better lawyer. In the end three months later, Mr. Genis won my case, and I was found not guilty. I can't thank Mr. Genis and his team enough for helping me go through this terrible thing and that I can finally put it all in my past and move on. If something like this happened to you, seriously just call Mr. Genis go see him for yourself and you will see how wonderful he is. He TRULY cares about his clients, and he will go above and beyond for you.

Due to Attorney Darryl Genis, my son's poor decision to drink and drive did not destroy his future dreams. Mr. Genis guided us through the difficult emotional and psychological process of a first-time offender who made a terrible decision on one night that could have impacted his entire life, and ruined the possibility of him pursuing his desired career. Mr. Genis was always there to explain the circumstances and choices to be made (we had no experience with criminal courts or understanding of the legalese) and he worked vigorously and passionately with both the prosecutors office and the judge. His legal work was impeccable and his responsiveness tremendous. He was unfailingly patient when I became distraught at the possible terrible consequences that existed. I cannot speak highly enough of him, and if I had a friend in need of the very best defense in the complex world of DUI for themself or a loved one, he is the person I would send them to. We have a lot to thank him for, and we will always be grateful for his intelligence, knowledge of the law, and ability to help our son both earn and receive a second chance.

Darryl Genis is known through-out the country for being one of the best DUI attorneys. I know this because he was highly recommended by my father's attorney in New York. He has proved through.
Being handed a difficult case to win, with the B.A.C. being about 3 times the legal limit, and getting pulled over by driving the wrong way down one way street, he was able to reduce both counts of DUI to a wet and reckless. This is unheard of in a case like this. I did not have to appear in court once. A wet and reckless can be expunged off your record after 18 months. I was very happy with the outcome of my case.
Darryl, and his lovely team of assistants, treated me with respect, and made me feel like they really cared about my case, and getting me the best possible outcome. They always kept me updated on what was happening in court, and if I had a question they would answer them promptly. If you value your future and don't want your D.U.I. to take over your life, spend the money and Hire Mr. Genis.

At 35 years old, when I was pulled for speeding one afternoon and handcuffed on the side of the road having blown a .08, I was completely overwhelmed and devastated. After extensive research and advice from some attorneys who are friends of friends, I settled on Mr. Genis to represent me through the process of pleading not guilty to the charges of driving under the influence and driving at or above a .08 BAC. At the time, I had no idea what a strenuous and long process fighting a DUI would be, nor how costly…financially and emotionally.
I insisted on meeting Mr. Genis is person to make sure he knew me, understood me and would be willing to fight for me. I mean, really fight for ME. When I did, I felt absolutely confident in my decision. To my great relief, after 18 months, Mr. Genis delivered on his promise to me just before Thanksgiving this year.
I cannot lie. The process of defending oneself in court is not an easy one. I found myself frustrated, terrified, depressed and exasperated many times throughout the last year and a half. But when Mr. Genis took me aside on our first day in court just a few weeks ago, he told me this:
“I am the pilot. This is my plane. I need you to walk into that courtroom and get in your zone, just like you do when you get on an actual plane. You put your headphones in, settle into your seat and trust that the pilot is going to get you to your destination safe and sound. I am the pilot. This is my plane. I have got you. “
And he did. His words gave me the strength I needed to get through the four days of trial that followed. He cared about me. About my case. About my reputation. He was kind and informative to my mom who was with me, and my friends who showed up to court to support me. He brought in two brilliant experts who also believed in me and my innocence. He fought for me and he won. Mr. Genis continuously reminded me that I did not deserve a guilty verdict in this case and he was willing to stick with me to the end, even though he would not get another dime from me whether we went to trial or not. I am still processing the fact that this ordeal is finally over and that besides a very hard lesson learned and some emotional scars, I have a clean record. I will forever be grateful to Mr. Genis.
Mr. Genis has been doing exceptional work for a very long time. Our legal system is complicated, confusing and unfortunately sometimes flawed. With no prior record or offenses, I was clueless going into this. Fortunately Mr. Genis’ incredible experience, his unbelievable knowledge of the law and his passion for his clients culminate in positive results. There were moments when I did not understand or particularly like the way this whole thing works and how it’s done, but we got through it. My family, my friends and I could not be more appreciative of Mr. Genis’ skill in the courtroom and his willingness to bring his very best to defend me.
