Gene made a very difficult situation otherwise a lot more manageable. It was clear from the get-go that he was a quality attorney. He wasn't one of those dump-truck attorneys who filled my mailbox with ads in the days following my arrest and he never made grandiose promises as to what he could get me at the DMV or in court. He told me what the standard penalties were and didn't try to scare me into hiring him by telling me that I'd be going back to jail or anything (and even assured me that I wouldn't as it was my first offense). He, as well as his secretary Jane, were very knowledgeable and for the most part answered the huge number of questions which I feel bad about asking (there were a couple of times when he didn't respond, but I assumed he was just really busy). He also gave me updates after the DMV hearing, the arraignment and every pre-trial conference as to what happened and what he'd do next. What impressed me the most is how well he knew everyone involved. When he found out who was the DMV hearing officer, he told me exactly what she'd be like and even a bit about her background. Same with the Deputy DA and judge we faced in court. Sadly, we were up against an unsympathetic Deputy DA, so he wasn't able to reduce my alcohol class down to the three month, but he still managed to convert the lion's share of my fines into community service. All-in-all, definitely the guy to go to if you've made the mistake of getting behind the wheel after too much to drink.
Gene got me through a complicated first DUI situation. He is extremely knowledgeable and his staff will answer any question.
What I was facing: 10 days jail, 1 year suspension, 9 month DUI school, and heavy fine.
What Gene accomplished: No jail, 40hrs community service, fair fine, and only a 3 month school. Suspension still in place, but that's the DMV, not court.
I recommend Gene and was glad I hired him to work my case. Lesson learned.....thanks!
Remember....Never be afraid to ask your lawyer what they are doing exactly for you in each step of your case. What the strategy is, what your facing, and how they will proceed with particular arguments.
Great attorney, very professional his staff are very nice, he has a lot of experience and knows what he is doing i recommend this attorney and law firm to anyone :)
He did a good job for me. My DUI was dismissed for a wet reckless. He won the DMV case and I kept my license. I would recommend him.
I was stupid and I was arrested for DUI when my blood was way above the limit. My employer made it very clear I would lose my job if I lost my drivers license. Eugene believed me and fought for me. He won the DMV and got me a wet reckless and I kept my job.
Very robotic (impersonal) and not very efficient. Does not take time to really listen or to try and defend you, just basically takes your cash (usually a flat fee; i.e. the "blue plate special") then its further downhill from there. As an accurate analogy; this "attorney" could be considered the Yugo (short lived due to its poor quality, labeled "the worst car ever made"), within the legal profession. You'd probably fair better by just throwing yourself at the mercy of the court, or by handling your case yourself. At the least you’d get better representation, potentially better results and save a lot of money by doing so. Hired Attorneys are supposed to be able to help us in times of great stress and turmoil, not add to it by mistrusting your attorney and questioning if what he does is in your best interest, or just his pocketbook...
