About me

Ms. Borodkin contributes over ten years of trial experience in complex commercial litigation with expertise in intellectual property matters.  Ms. Borodkin has litigated the protection of copyrights and trademarks in the fashion, music, motion picture and sports industries extensively in courts in New York and California.  She has also represented parties in arbitrations before the AAA, JAMS, and NASD, and in investigations by the NYSE, SEC, the United States Department of Justice and numerous State Attorney General's offices.

 

Ms. Borodkin combines her law practice with active involvement in Southern California’s entertainment and technology community.  Ms. Borodkin is a member of the State Bar of California, Intellectual Property Section.  She is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and counsel to the U.S. Sports Film Festival.  She frequently contributes to copyright law and technology blogs.

 

Ms. Borodkin served as a law clerk to the Honorable Diane P. Wood, United States Court of Appeals Judge for the Seventh Circuit and to the Honorable I. Leo Glasser, United States District Court Judge for the Eastern District of New York.  Her government service also includes a summer clerkship at the United States Department of Justice.

 

Ms. Borodkin was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1998 and to the State Bar of New York in 2003.   She is admitted to U.S. District Court in the Central and Southern Districts of California and the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.  She received her J.D. from Columbia University School of Law.  Her Columbia Law Review note,"The Economics of Antiquities Looting and a Proposed Legal Alternative," is frequently cited in international publications concerning art and cultural property.  She received her A.B. cum laude from Harvard University.
