Cynthia Underwood is an associate in the Orange County office, where she represents clients primarily in the areas of family law and civil litigation.
Cynthia earned her Juris Doctor degree from Whittier Law School. While in law school, Ms. Underwood clerked for an Orange County Superior Court Judge at the Lamoreaux Justice Center and for the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, where she assisted with juvenile delinquency cases, preliminary hearings and trials.
Cynthia also served as a law clerk for Whittier Law School’s Children’s Rights Clinic where she assisted in providing pro bono legal representation for indigent clients in family law cases, including guardianship, adoption, and limited conservatorship cases. During her time at Whitter, Ms. Underwood was a member of the Moot Court Honors Board, Trial Advocacy Honors Board, and an Editor of the Whittier Journal of Child & Family Advocacy.
Cynthia was born and raised in Canada. She attended The University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada, where she graduated with a Honors Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a minor in Criminology.
Cynthia is a member of the Orange County Women Lawyers Association, the Orange County Bar Association, and the Orange County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. As a Canadian, Ms. Underwood enjoys watching hockey. She also practices yoga and volunteers in her community with the charity organization, Junior League of Orange County.
