About Me

Since 1980 I have specialized in the area of civil appeals and writs. I
successfully passed the second exam given by the State Bar for
certification as an appellate specialist in 1999. Not only do I handle
appeals, but I am a frequent lecturer and author on appellate subjects.
I love the intellectual challenge of working on appeals!

I also spent many years working on law and motion matters on a
consulting basis for other attorneys. My book, California Summary
Judgment and Related Termination Motions, is now published by The
Rutter Group. If that wasn't enough, I spent over five years as the
editor of several legal magazines for plaintiff's lawyers, including
Plaintiff, The Advocate, The Forum, and The Gavel.

After more than 30 years of practicing law and editing legal magazines,
I am trying to expand my interests to more creative pursuits. I have
written several plays and try to improve my skills as a photographer.
