About Me

Rachel Simon is an attorney in the firm's Corporate, Securities and Tax Section, where she provides legal counsel and representation to corporate and business clients, as well as to individuals, in a broad range of tax and financial matters. 

She handles complex commercial business transactions, strategic tax planning and controversies, corporate law, including mergers and acquisitions, real estate law and numerous other areas pertaining to finance.  She represents individuals and families in estate planning matters, including wills and trusts, state and federal tax controversy resolution and more.

In addition to the previously mentioned areas, Ms. Simon provides representation and counseling in the following areas: 

  • FBAR compliance – FBAR is a Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts. Individuals in the U.S. who have accounts in foreign countries with a value exceeding $10,000 are required to file an FBAR. Note that this pertains to all overseas accounts combined wherein the value topped $10,000 at any point during the calendar year  

  • Sales tax compliance – Attorney Simon provides legal counsel and representation in matters pertaining to sales and use tax, including audits, appeals, special fees, multi-state taxes and more  

  • Estate planning – Preparation and drafting of wills and trusts; selection of trustee, executor; minimizing estate taxes by careful asset organization
