About Me

I have been fighting for the rights of the accused and those who find themselves swept into an often complicated legal system since I was a young law student in New York. I began my career as an activist for criminal justice and I clerked in the busiest public defenders office in Manhattan, the Legal Aid Society of NY. I graduated the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of law with honors and recognition for the most outstanding graduate entering criminal law.

In 2003, I returned to California and got my law license. I spent 5 years at the Orange County Public Defenders Office defending the most difficult cases, with outstanding results. I earned a reputation amongts my peers, District Attorneys, Judges and the private bar for being a fierce advocate and an aggressive and persuasive litigator. It was this experience that launched me into private practice, where I have more time to spend on each individual case and with each client.

I have tried cases to juries and judges and have an excellent success record. I have represented thousands of clients in cases ranging from misdemeanors to the most serious and violent felonies. I also have represented hundreds of parents in child abuse proceedings and written countless juvenile appeals.

When you get arrested, you don't stop being the mother, caretaker, provider, parent, or future-leader that you are. It is the attorney's job to make sure that you are portrayed in the most favorable light and that you are treated by the system with dignity and respect. I never forget that my clients are real people with families, lives, and jobs they need to get back to. I understand how important the outcome of each case is to the client so it is just as important to me.

I take each case very seriously, as though the liberty of a friend of family member was at stake. I have the experience to evaluate and give honest and reliable advise and the passion and talent to advocate on your behalf. I have helped many clients pull their lives out of a difficult place, to see a shining future. I can do the same for you.
