Mr. Robert L. Driessen is a licensed in both California and the District of Columbia. Robert L. Driessen is dedicated to helping individuals charged with DUI’s and other criminal matters in Orange County and the surround area. He is extremely knowledgeable about state and local laws applicable to criminal defense law.
Mr. Driessen graduated from the College of William & Mary. While in law school, he was selected to be part of the William and Mary Moot Court Team. He was awarded winner of best brief and oral advocate at several national competitions. In addition to his top oral advocacy in moot court competitions and was invited to have lunch with Supreme Court Justice William Rehnquist. While in law school he had the honor of working for Federal Bankruptcy Judge Sheri Bluebond, Federal District Court Judge F. Bradford Stillman, and the Department of Justice Office of the United States Trustee.
Mr. Driessen graduated from UCLA with high honors as well as graduating cum laude with degrees in Economics and History.
After graduation from law school, he worked for a prestigious Orange County civil litigation firm that focused on banking and real estate law. Mr. Driessen used his knowledge in bankruptcy and civil litigation to successfully represent his clients in a number of bench trials. He routinely advised clients on the best course of action to maximize their results in complex banking questions.
Mr. Driessen also represented banks and loan service companies with a focus on mortgage law and bankruptcy. He was responsible for large case load where he independently manage both his time and files effectively. The practice concentrated on mortgage and bankruptcy law. Mr. Driessen regularly appeared in both state and federal court as well as significant law and motion work including drafting demurrers, motions to dismiss, and motions for summary judgment. Mr. Driessen’s legal writing was complemented by several judges and ensured a successful resolution for his clients.
After an extensive hiring process, he was one of a selective group of individuals hired to become a prosecutor for the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. He received well over a hundred hours of training in every aspect of a jury trial, including but not limited to: DUI law, advanced trial preparation, and everything from effective jury selection to the penalty phase, all using the latest in courtroom technology. As a prosecutor, he handled thousands of arraignments, pretrial hearings, motions, suppression hearings, preliminary hearings, jury trials and sentencing hearings, all with a strong track record for success.
After several years as a prosecutor, with experience in Orange County, as well as a civil litigator, Robert L. Driessen started his own criminal defense practice, and placed his extensive knowledge and vast experience in defending others. With his experience and many achievements on both sides of the criminal justice system, his vast knowledge and understanding of the law, he confidently handles any type of criminal case; whether it is defending a DUI to armed robbery.
