Ms. Sookdeo has always been passionate about law and the idea of helping others combat their legal issues. She is a Managing Attorney at Robinson Sookdeo Law, a general practice law office that handles various cases involving evictions, bankruptcy law, criminal law, and family law cases. The office serves individuals in the several counties, including Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles and Orange County.
Ms. Sookdeo graduated from University of California, Santa Barbara with a degree in English. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Barry University Law School. While attending law school, Ms. Sookdeo joined one of the University’s Mock Trial teams. The team traveled to compete against law students from other schools and served as a springboard for Ms. Sookdeo’s skill, confidence, and aggression necessary for the courtroom.
Currently, Ms. Sookdeo is licensed to practice law in California and Florida.
Ms. Sookdeo is currently the President of the Ricahrd T. Fields Bar Association, a legal organization devoted to community service and youth education. She is a Board member of the Callifornia Association of Black Lawyers and an Affiliate Representative on the Board of Governors for the National Bar Association. Ms. Sookdeo is also an avid volunteer for various organizations that assist students, low income families and troubled youth throughout the Inland Empire and in the Los Angeles area.

I have been in court on several occasions while Shumika has presented her case. She has been well-spoken, direct and prepared each and every time. The judges' response to her position and argument make it clear that she has a good reputation and is respected.
