I had my first encounter with the law when I received a DUI on a military base. My initial reaction was to just take responsibility for my actions and plead guilty since it happened out of state. However, before doing so I decided to Google San Diego DUI Lawyers and found Rick Mueller. After reading all of his positive reviews, I figured he would be very expensive in relation to other lawyers. This was not the case at all. He was very reasonably priced, I never had to travel back to San Diego to appear in court, he answered all of my questions ridiculously fast, and in the end wound up getting me an awesome plea bargain. He made me feel comfortable the entire time and I was able to trust him in defending me.

Rick Mueller is a fantastic DUI lawyer. I was stopped for a routine speeding ticket going 9mph over the speed limit as I was driving through San Diego on my way to New Mexico, driving through the night. The officer asked if I had anything to drink, probably because it was 1:30am. I had previously stopped and had dinner with friends and had a couple of beers with my dinner, but it was several hours earlier. Anyway I was honest and said that I had 2 beers much earlier in the evening. That was enough for him to pull me out of my car and go through the process of arresting me for DUI. My BAC turned out to be .06, less than the legal limit of .08, but this was my 2nd arrest for DUI and I was still on probation for the 1st one. (Unfortunately I deserved the first DUI but had been very careful not to drink and drive since then.) Being on probation I was not allowed to have any measurable amount of alcohol in my system, so they put me in jail for the night. I called my previous lawyer in northern CA and he recommended Rick. I am so glad he did. Rick is very responsive, very efficient, his fee is very reasonable, and he really knows how to defend anyone being arrested for DUI. He was able to negotiate a plea bargain that got the DA to drop the DUI charge in exchange for a reckless driving - alcohol related charge. So, I didn't have to go to jail, or be put on trash detail, or public work program, or community service, or volunteer work. I didn't get a 2-year suspension of my driver license that usually happens from a DUI conviction, nor have my Vehicle Impounded or be required to install an Ignition Interlock Device. My fine was less than half of the normal $2539+ DUI fine. I did have to pay a fine and take the 12-hour education class, but considering what could have happened I felt that he got me a great deal. Thanks Rick, for being the best lawyer I could have had.

I got a DUI on a military base and Rick got me off with a reckless and a 500 dollar fine. I never had to show up for any appearances no restricted license or anything. He was friendly, responsive and on the ball and the fee was reasonable. The results speak for themselves.

I dont know how he does it..................I've never seen any one person work SO hard! I got arrested on 2 seperate occasions for 2 suspected DUI's. Rick got 1 reduced to wet/reckless and 1 was dismissed. I dont know how he did it. Had I handled these 2 cases myself I would have ended up with more in court fees than I actually paid him to represent me. Bad things happen to Good people and those good people need good honest attorneys. Rick Mueller is just that! I was arrested for a DUI late last year and I can tell you, its no fun! It not only affected my life but my career as well. Rick knew that fully and did everything in his powers to help.
I will tell you this you get what you pay for. Rick is not an expensive attorney yet he isnt the cheapest. When it comes to life altering things money "should" be no option. Of course in these economic times financial situations can be rough and Rick is always willing to work with you. What I paid in my opinion was worth every penny. His knowledge in his field paid for itself. When Rick says he'll take care of everything...he means every word. I never once had to step foot into court or my DMV hearing and he laid out every step to take to get me back on my way to living a normal life. He put me at ease and thats just what I needed. Rick was amazing from start to finish! He took a lot of time and worked very hard for me. He is highly professional but yet I felt treated like family. He tends to be be very proactive and informative so you know he is on top of your case and cares! No question went unanswered. I hired Rick Mueller after getting arrested for a DUI on Garnet Ave in California. I initially blew a 0.078 which the officer said rounded off to a 0.08. I then had to do the sobriety tests and then blow into the portable unit or be arrested. I blew a 0.1 in the portable unit. Spent the night in jail but behaved very well with the officer.

Rick managed to work a deal with the City Attorneys office such that if I didn't get another DUI with a year there would be NO CHARGES FILED.

Trust me.. I went to the DUI classes and I was the only one with this kind of a deal. Even the instructors hadn't heard of anything as such and initially did not even believe me, saying it was impossible. I did not have to do any kind of community service, or visit any MAD sessions.

Rick might be a little bit on the expensive side, but he's SO worth it. He is ALWAYS in contact and responds to emails almost immediately.

I completed the year without another DUI and now there is NO RECORD of me in court. It was not brought down to a reckless driving etc. like the others in my DUI class. I had no charge whatsoever.

I'm never drinking and driving again, and always ask my friends to do the same. However if one of them does make the same mistake as me I know who to refer them to.

Rick was able to get my motion dismissed (set aside) by the DMV (after being charged with a 2.0 BAC). No license restriction. No penalties. He is now working on getting my court case dismissed and I have no doubt he will do it. I am one that will never drink and drive again. After describing my results to another prominent attorney in the state that attourney said to me "You know Rick Mueller should be bronzed for the results he gets." I could not agree more. He is VERY responsive and extremely knowledgeable. The best in his field. Do not hesitate to hire him. DUI is the mother of all nightmares! As a parent, I got that horrendous 3AM call from may daughter- DUI arrest, in jail-oh my god, now what do I do? Even though they say a lawyer cannot help with a dui I took the chance...and I am SO glad I did. I thought there was no possible way of avoiding conviction but Rick made it happen. Pled to a dry reckless...a small fine and 20AA classes..that is all!! I still can't believe it.

I also asked for him to get an extension on the amount of time I had to complete my classes and payment and it was done...easy as that.

Rick Mueller was an amazing DUI attorney. He knows the ins and outs of his field and I would rank him as an excellent attorney. I was pulled over for tinted windows and had a BAC of 0.11. Rick Mueller did an excellent job defending me when I was charged with a DUI in San Diego County. I use the word DEFENDING, because REPRESENTING is not strong enough to describe his efforts on my behalf.

Don't bother shopping around, because Rick truly is the expert. My BAC was .30 and he was able to have the DUI reduced to Public Intoxication. Fine was reduced, suspended license reinstated, no effect on my insurance, no community service. How's that for results !?! Let me first say that despite Rick's best efforts, I did not win my DUI case, though it was reduced to a wet reckless (and we did not prevail in the APS either). Despite that, I want to give Rick a great review.
From the day I contacted Rick, he had useful practical advice that no other lawyer I contacted offered.
By making these suggestions and giving me a LOT of information along the way, he helped me understand how both the APS and criminal courts worked and what would happen next. I had never been arrested before and the time was stressful enough. Rick helped reduce this and I got a plea bargain that I could live with.

The was the worst experience of my life and I almost did not hire an attorney. I did not believe there was anything a lawyer could do to help. Boy was I wrong!

I got a DUI in San Diego with a Indiana prior. The courts found out about the IN prior, but the DMV did not. I told Rick that I needed to keep my license or else I would lose my job. I plead no contest to the courts, and have to do the required programs and fees. However, Rick won my DMV trial, and since they didn't know about my IN prior, I got my restricted license even after registering for the 18 month DUI program (for multiple convictions). As Rick will tell you, it can be frustrating not being involved with the day-to-day processes, but let Rick do his job. I have a lot of work to do for the court conviction, but with a 0.26 BAC, I really have to own up. All I care about is that he got my license back and I didn't lose my job (and don't have to spend cab fare on all of the programs I have to attend)!
