You are facing jail time. Whether it will be realistically imposed is not likely.
San Diego DUIs have costly unintended consequences.
When there is an accident and the blood alcohol level is high the consequences mount.
I strongly recommend obtaining free consultations of local attorneys to help you. You need to be proactive.
It is good to hear you made some positive changes in your life.
Several criminal attorneys do expungement, especially here in San Diego.
Like my colleagues have said, check Avvo and start making contacts to see if they can work for you.
As a former District Attorney and former City Attorney I can tell you it will be tough to negotiate a DUI charge with a collision. It appears you missed contacting an attorney right away, which did not help your situation.
Sounds like a case you want to speak to an attorney about. Find one that gives free case evaluations because a few more details are needed. If you are comfortable with the attorney and the price is right I recommend retaining one.
Find an attorney who gives free case...
You cannot do work furlough and CPAC at same time. It is usually one or the other.
Work Furlough allows you to go about your business in the day, with your non work hours in work furlough. CPAC keeps you sleeping at home…but it is much more restrictive in what you can do.
Of course both have their own entry qualifications. There is a lot more but that is a nutshell.
CPAC is SAN DIEGO SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT COUNTY PAROLE AND ALTERNATIVE CUSTODY (CPAC) UNIT.
There is some tricks with CPAC that I recommend your attorney look into. It does not just happen.
I know people (if they qualify) usually prefer it over custody.
You would have a viable probation to terminate case. Most attorneys can file it ASAP and get it on calendar maybe within the month.
You do not need to fly out to CA. With a solid motion to terminate your chance is a viable one.
Consult AVVO attorneys that offer free consultation and to see which one has a price you can work with.
