IMMIGRATION HELP WHEN ITS MOST NEEDED

We met Giacomo when my sister and I went to the local Customs And Border Protection's Deferred Inspection office in San Diego. We witnessed how he successfully resolved his client's problem by engaging in persuasive advocacy of his client's case. Since the many years I lived in the US I dealt with many good immigration lawyers, but never before had I witnessed such excellent advocacy as that of Giacomo. He managed to resolve the client's rather complex issues with CBP, while explaining everything to her in Italian and trying to keep calm and optimistic. He was a joy to watch and listen to. He was funny, engaging, compassionate, while at the same very knowledgeable and highly professional, a combination of qualities you rarely see in a lawyer. With incredible ease and fluidity he was switching from one language to another by addressing various groups and families sitting in the waiting area and answering their questions and orienting them on how to seek help from CBP. I then asked for his business card, and 2 days later I was sitting in his office to discuss my sister's case, for which we were unable to obtain resolution from CBP by ourselves.

During the consultation we had in his office, Giacomo answered each and every one of our questions and was very understanding, and again super knowledgeable. My sister and I were impressed and decided to hire him on the spot.
In the days that ensued Giacomo took her to CBP, this time as her attorney, pointed out the error with her admission and within minutes obtained her 3 more months to remain in the USA, with a corrected "Nunc Pro Tunc" admission stamp - here it should be noted that when we were there last time, alone and unrepresented by Giacomo, CBP simply sent us away, and asked us to file a request of extension of stay...with USCIS.. Absurd!
Having come to know Giacomo reassured us so much, given my sister so much peace of mind, that we now decided to entrust Giacomo and his office with my sister's entire immigration case.
I would like to add that Giacomo possesses an encyclopedic knowledge of the law, as well as the history and geopolitics of most, if not all countries and regional conflicts of the entire map of the world. Both my and my sister are very happy to have Giacomo as my sister's attorney, we believe in him completely and are confident that having an attorney like him will assure the successful outcome of my sister's case.

    Konledgable Straight-Forward Lawyer

While other lawyers like to beat around the bush and ask you to hire a lawyer, Giacomo would tell you his opinion flat out. He does not use the word "maybe" "might" "it may". He answered two of my questions and his response were the correct answers both times.

BEST IMMIGRATION ATTORNEY: OTHER LAWYERS TALK AND PROMISE, THIS ONE DOES!!!

My case was hopeless. I've been out of status in the U.S. for more than 20 years. Several previous attorneys tried to help, but made matters only worse. My case was complicated and, as I was told, virtually impossible to resolve, because I did not come to the U.S. legally. I was told that I could never apply for a green card in the U.S. Then four years ago I was referred to Giacomo Behar. He patiently analyzed all the different aspects of my incredibly complex situation, aggravated by many mistakes I made in the past, because of wrong advice by less experienced lawyers and Russian speaking Immigration experts. Giacomo and his staff provided invaluable support and mapped out the strategy in my case, aimed to succeed. Giacomo did a tremendous job of analyzing and explaining tome about all the twists and turns that my case may take. And the risks of being deported if I did not succeed. He managed to have my prior deportation order rescinded, where I did not appear in court due to my then lawyer's indifference and failure to notify me. Giacomo then filed a very carefully prepared adjustment of status case, where I had to explain the mistakes made by prior attorneys and consultants, and encouraged to tell me to tell the whole truth about the hidden issues In my case. Throughout the long and emotional waiting period where Immigration lost and then again, misplaced my file, Giacomo took extraordinary steps in in making an inquiry after inquiry, appeal after appeal, including contacting the office of the Immigration Ombudsman in Washington, D.C., until finally after three and half long years, my adjustment of status interview was scheduled by Immigration. Giacomo offered to drive himself to the interview, knowing how nervous I was and I am eternally grateful to him for that. On our way he knew all the right things to say to calm me down and make me feel OK and boost my confidence in myself. At the interview I was shaking with anxiety and concerns over the real possibility of negative outcome. But Giacomo was there with me and for me and his presence and confidence, as well as his invaluable knowledge of the law and procedure made all the difference in the world. He even insisted that I and my 21-year old son accompany him to lunch to celebrate my green card and future in America. My son was so emotional that he hugged Giacomo and thanked him for making us whole family again. Free at last and grateful forever from the bottom of my heart! Giacomo, you are the best!

    Disappointed

    Very disappointed!!!
I've read the reviews about him online and decided to set up a consultation to discuss the case regarding Green Card Lottery. Since we really wanted to speak to someone who speaks Russian, we were promised over the phone that him and his Russian speaking wife will be consulting us (200$ an hour!!!). First of all, our appointment was 25 minutes late (Ok, lawyers are busy, I understand). Secondly, his Russian speaking wife never came into the room and spoke to us (that was the primary reason I chose him...). From the very beginning Mr. Behar had an attitude, instead of congratulating us, he hesitated to offer a condolences or congrats. That was very unprofessional. Mr. Behar really does not like Russian people (even thou he is married to one), said sooo many bad things about Russian embassy, Russia and people who live there (that wasn't the goal for me to hear how some one is trashing my motherland). He was not clear and wasn't answering my questions to the point, he had many stories that were somewhat related to our situation. He also insulted me saying I will not be able to understand something he was explaining and what I couldn't get from the first time. He said "I can repeat 5 times and you will not get it".... Who says that??? Try and explain in other words.... It's in your best interest to explain to me so I can go with you and your services. And it seemed that he was irritated with too many questions... Mr.Behar told me that this is just a consultation and that we shouldn't discuss these many details.... Remember, I just paid you !!! $200 !!! Consultation is the time where person wants to find out as many details as he/she can. He also promised to call on Monday with results and details, but we never heard anything from him.
Maybe he is smart and experienced.........but I did not see that at all. Very unprofessional and ignorant.
    Stay away.
    Thank you.

Giacomo Jacques Behar’s response: “Dear anonymous, My response is below: I respectfully disagree with the assessment of my services, for the following reasons: 1. Our office was exceptionally busy last Thursday. You were explained that. Despite being offered different days/hours for the consultation, you were very very insistent to be seen that same day, and I obliged. 2. You were never promised that my Russian speaking wife/partner will also meet with you. She happened to have 6 appointments and a court hearing that day. Furthermore, your English was absolutely perfect and there was no real need to have a second, Russian speaking attorney present. 3. Consular processing and all Diversity Visa (green card lottery) matters are my expertise, I've been doing it for 22 years. My partner, just like me is a Certified Legal Specialist specializing in political asylum and removal defense for clients from all the former USSR countries. 4. it is incorrect that you were made to wait 25 minutes. Your waiting time was less than 10 minutes, because you and your friend arrived almost 30 min. early. As it happens, I was with another client, and as a highly responsible and caring lawyer, I didn't release her until I answered all of her questions. And yes, that took me an extra 10 minutes. 5. My hourly fee is much more than 200 dollars/hour. I gave you a very special, introductory rate of $200/hr., to be able to answer all of your questions. Our meeting, as thorough as it was, took 1 hour and 40 minutes. I did not remind you, even once that your time was up, nor did I charge you extra. 6. Unlike Russia, the USA is a transparent and free democracy where anyone can speak their mind. And I refuse to be silenced if I want to express my opinions. We are filing from 5 to 10 political asylum cases a month for Russian nationals who are fleeing, in fear of their lives, political persecution, kleptocrary, abuse, torture & many more violations of human rights by Russian officials. And by the way, you yourself live here, and not in the "motherland" - how come? The point is, I am here in the USA and I can freely speak my mind about your "motherland". And yes, I help people to leave countries like Russia & assist them to find a better life in the US. That's my job & I am proud of it. 7. It is a known fact that corruption is pervasive in Russia, which apparently also includes the process of obtaining US visas at the US embassy in Moscow. Case in point: when I asked the person you brought to the consultation, she acknowledged to have paid a bribe to obtain her visa. If this is not the proof of what I was saying about Russia being correct, then what is? 8. I promised to research, for free, a highly complex fact pattern, and I spent couple of hours doing so, and I have an answer now. I never promised to get back to you on Monday, but explained that I would do my best. I didn't charge you for my research, and myself volunteered to do it in first place. 9. And finally, I remained with you for such a long time, just to make sure, as I do with all my prospective & current clients, that all of your questions were answered and gave you examples, in detail, of what happened in similar cases to yours. The attention and careful detailed explanations I gave you, patiently, time after time, after each of your questions and several "what if" scenarios certainly didn't mean disrespect, and none was intended, far from it. My only aim was to look after your best interests and make sure your DV case is not denied. And to show you my good faith, I will say this: if still you want to hear the resolution to your dilemma, you are welcome to give me a call. In any event, wishing you much success in all your future endeavors. Today got our green cards!!!!

Mr. Giacomo was our family immigration lawyer for almost 7 years. I was referred to him by a friend of a friend who told us so many good stories about what he did for our close-knit Italian community here over the decade or so. Until today when we finally got our green cards in the mail Giacomo sailed us through no less than 5 H-1B visas with 4 employers, 4 Labor applications and 4 I-140 applications to immigration. Each time I changed jobs and had a new employer I made it a point to insist as part of my contract that it would be Mr. Giacomo who would handle all our family immigration matters. Some employers had their own lawyers and were not too happy about it. I left them no choice, even if I had to pay out of my own pocket. That paid off ten times. I couldn't stop hearing the horror stories of my co-workers about company lawyers who handled hundreds of cases like mine at the same time. For Mr. Giacomo me and my family were always special. We were always treated like family by him and helpers.

My cases were never easy. 2 employers were audited by the department of labor and all 3 I-140ies were RFId. Time after time, when sometimes things looked so difficult and even desperate, Giacomo tirelessly worked at it. Always with creative actions and ideas. To fight off "Ability to Pay" RFIs he engaged the best outside experts (tax attorney, bookkeeper), tirelessly educated them on the idiosyncrasies of Dept of labor and Immigration and helped them produce beautiful expert opinion letters and opinions that tipped off the balance in employers favour. (On one occasion he even paid one tax lawyer out of his pocket and it was only later that I learned it from employer who Giacomo asked not to tell)

Me my wife and two daughters are never going to forget what Mr. Giacomo (and his lovely wife and partner Mrs. Tatiana) did for us over the years. They are part of our family forever. We expect them to be at our dinner table as our most honored guests every holiday, whenever they are not travelling! We intend to give them a great city tour of Florence at the end of this month.

Fabulous person to entrust your immigration future to - one of the best lawyers out there!

We are a family of 5 from France and last year we were notified to have been selected for the lottery green card. We first applied at the US embassy but were rejected because my studies were not enough and relevant experience of work too long ago I was told. We were devastated but still found enough courage to book a vacation to America as consolation. It was then that we met Mr. Behar through a friend of a friend who used his services before and couldn't stop complimenting him. We telephoned him to see if he could do anything for us. "Come on over for a consultation" he said. After about 90 minutes of incessant question answer session - we did not feel the time pass, Mr. Behar was so patient.. He convinced us to apply once again, this time with Immigration in the USA. We were so hesitant, there were also so many mistakes on the DS260ies we sent to consular centre.. I still don't know how, Mr. Behar repacked everything and we filed with immigrartion. in less than 60 days we got our working permits, etc. Soon it was time for the interview (came very fast) My wife and I were petrified. Mr. Behar prepared us for the questions and problems possible for hours. We finally went. It was not easy... My shirt became wet. After more than 1 hour of what we thought cruel, unjust questioning and after Mr. Behar requested 2 supervisors to intervene we were sent home and promised to get decision in writing. Nothing for weeks.. Than suddenly: "Welcome to America" packages, our green cards!!! We don't have to return to France anymore - just for visit when we want! How did Mr. Behar succeed? He is an exceptionally brilliant attorney and an wonderful human being to know and work with. We are recommending him to all our friends who want to come out of France but don't know who to turn to!

Knowledgeable, Innovative, Bold, Pro-Active and can handle the Complex Immigration Cases

Giacomo helped us on the Permanent Residency case. It was not an easy one as it required lots of extra-steps and lot more supporting documents. He really did a through job and worked hard and in an innovative ways. So I really would recommend Giacomo to you. I think his fee is probably above average but considering his style of team work and giving personal attention, it is worth it. Best is to spell out the complete fee agreement ahead and inquire all the possible scenarios and that way you would know how much it would cost. Nevertheless, Giacomo and Tatyana are probably the best lawyers in immigration field i have come across and I have dealt a few ones for sure. Very friendly, open and accessible.

Giacomo Jacques Behar’s response: “This was not your simple "Permanent Residency" case. Before arriving at the I-485 adjustment of status stage, we had to deal with a number of other legal procedures and obstacles to assure that all bars to adjustment were successfully overcome and that the client remained in valid status at all times. It took a team of 2 lawyers and innumerable hours of developing customized strategy in this case to bring it to successful resolution. Having the cooperation and complete trust of the clients throughout the entire process was of great help and enabled us to successfully accomplish this difficult goal. Very happy to have been of service to you and we are elated that in the end everything turned out well as expected. Congratulations!”
