IRS Audit turned Tax Court Appeal

Practice Area: Tax

Outcome: Minor liability owed under $500

Description: Client was audited for 2007. She had a Schedule C loss and substantial gambling income/losses. She failed to respond to the audit and received a notice of determination. A tax court petition was filed and the audited was taken to the appeals level in tax court. The client's records for 2007 were completely destroyed in a storage facility accident. Through forensic tracing, I was able to prove almost all of her expenses and gambling losses to the IRS attorney.
