About Me 

Senior Bankruptcy Counsel to Fleischer and Ravreby, Steven K. Brumer was the founder of The Brumer Law Firm. A New York City native, Steven graduated from the University of Miami School of Law in 1999 and obtained his license to practice law in Florida in that year. Soon after graduation, he began his career with a mid-sized insurance defense firm in Miami. In 2001, Mr. Brumer earned an LL.M. (Master of Laws) degree in Taxation from the University of San Diego and obtained his license to practice law in California. He also holds licenses to practice before various federal courts in California and Florida, as well as the United States Tax Court.

Mr. Brumer has practiced in the areas of consumer bankruptcy, insurance and corporate defense, estate planning, wealth transfer taxation, probate, trust administration, trust litigation, employment law, and general corporate transactions and representation. Prior to becoming affiliated with the firm, he served as general counsel to various real estate and mortgage entities including Windsor Capital Mortgage Corporation, the National Academy of Independent Brokers, and Real Estate Consulting Group.

Mr. Brumer is an active member of the San Diego County Bar Association and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. He is also a licensed real estate broker and member of both the San Diego Association of Realtors and the California Association of Realtors. An avid road cyclist, he participates in numerous recreational, charity, and century rides (rides of 100+ miles) each year. In addition, having been diagnosed with Type-1 Diabetes (formerly known as “Juvenile Diabetes”) while in law school, Mr. Brumer serves the San Diego community as a mentor for children and teens suffering from diabetes and also serves as co-chair of the “Dads’ Club” at his children’s elementary school. He resides in San Diego with his two children and the family’s yellow labrador.
