James Sexton did not set out to be a lawyer, having graduated from Vanderbilt University in Tennessee with degrees in Business Administration and Sociology. Once a world-class swimmer who qualified for the boycotted 1980 Olympics, Mr. Sexton also spent three years working in marketing for a major textbook company. Finding his calling for law, he graduated in 1990 from the California Western School of Law in San Diego and has spent his career since working in various aspect of the law field.
The first ten years of his professional career were spent defending the interests and checkbooks of various insurance companies involved in personal injury and workers compensation claims. Those were valuable years, as he now is on the other side of the table and defending injured persons in such cases instead. He knows how the system works from all aspects which benefits his clients immensely.
