I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Wagner during the early years of my legal career. We tried a co-defendant matter wherein the prosecutor distorted the police officer's testimony and pointed all blame to the defendants. On cross-examination of the police officer, Mr. Wagner was able to paint a different picture. He discovered and exploited the officer's failure to follow through with mandatory protocol and impeached all the prosecutor's witnesses. He then passed the torch to me and paved my way to impeach the prosecution's subsequent witnesses.
