About me

Jacob Stein is a Partner with the law firm Klueger and Stein, LLP, in Encino, California. The firm’s practice is limited to international tax planning, asset protection planning and structuring complex business transactions, focusing on cross-border transactions.


Jacob received his law degree from the University of Southern California, and his Master’s of Law in Taxation from Georgetown University. Mr. Stein has been accredited by the State Bar of California as a Certified Tax Law Specialist and is AV-rated (highest possible rating) by Martindale.


Over the course of his career Mr. Stein has represented over two thousand clients, including: officers and directors of Fortune 500 companies; Forbes 400 families around the world; celebrities; Internet entrepreneurs; businesses of all sizes engaging in cross-border transactions; and wealthy foreigners doing business in the United States.


Mr. Stein is an author of three books, and over two dozen scholarly articles and technical manuals.  He has taught over 500 continuing education seminars on topics including: A Foreigner’s Guide to Investing in U.S. Real Estate, Tax Planning for Cross-Border Joint Ventures, Creative Planning with Controlled Foreign Corporations, Advanced Asset Protection Planning, Advanced Choice of Entity Analysis, Creative Planning with Trusts, and Advanced Estate Tax Planning. Jacob is an instructor with the California CPA Education Foundation, National Business Institute, Thomson Reuters, the Rossdale Group and Lorman Education Services. He is an adjunct professor of taxation at the CSU, Northridge Graduate Tax Program.
