Darrell Jon York

I worked as a police officer for a municipal agency in Los Angeles County from 1980-2004.  I was assigned to the DUI task force for over 2 years and made approximately 1000 DUI arrests in his 24 years on the department. I have testified on numerous occasions as a DUI expert and drug expert in the Los Angeles Superior Court and before the Ventura County Grand Jury.  I was also a field training officer and trained newly hired officers in the administration of field sobriety tests and DUI enforcement.   I worked the narcotics bureau for 4 years, both in the street enforcement detail and the major violators unit.  I was promoted to Sergeant in 1997 and was a patrol supervisor and later worked as the Internal Affairs Sergeant up until the time of his retirement in 2004.

Upon my retirement, I began focusing on criminal defense with an emphasis in DUIs.  I was on the Indigent Criminal Defense Panel and represented well over 500 clients during my time on the panel.  From 2007-2011 I have worked at two criminal defense firms and am now a solo practitioner.
