About me

Maryam is an agrressive family law attorney passionate about trial work and litigation.  She focuses primarily on family law but still maintains her civil cases in order to continue honing in on her trial skills.  She brings a unique litigation perspective to family law as it is very rare for a family lawyer to have jury trial experience which provides leverage in the court room.  She is compassinate, agressive, and a resource to have on the side of anyone going thorugh a tough family law issue.  Most of her clients come to her after going through a prior counsel who could not reach results due to the litigous nature of the case and she pushes the matter toward resolve to brings peace back into her client's lives. Result oriented and uncompromising with a level of compassion is who she is.

In family law, Maryam is focused on one goal- to obtain the best possible result for her client.  Whether aggressive litigation is necessary or a more collaborative approach is required, a strategy is immediately devised to obtain results.  Maryam works with the client, provides a listening ear through the most difficult time in his/her life, and remains compassionate without compromising aggressive representation.   Maryam knows that her clients are faced with an emotional time and will guide them through the legal proceedings to ensure their legal rights are met.  The Atighechi Law Group focuses on family law which includes, divorce, spousal support, child support, child custody, move away orders, restraining orders and prenuptial agreements.

Maryam obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Connecticut.  She attended Western State University School of Law where she earned a Juris Doctorate degree.  While at Western, Maryam was one of a select few to be chosen to represent the school in national moot court competitions based on her superior writing and oral skills.  She was honored with the opportunity to travel the nation and represent the school in mock trials.

Maryam is admitted to practice law in California State Court, the United States District Court for the Central District, the United States District Court for the Southern District, is a member of the American Bar Association, the Los Angeles Bar Association, Consumer Attorneys of Los Angeles and is a board member of the Vanguard Repertory Company of the La Canada Flintridge High School.   Maryam is currently in training to become a Court Appointed Special Advocate to assist foster children in the court system.  Maryam is fluent in Farsi.

The Atighechi Law Group sincerely hopes that you allow us the opportunity to guide you through these difficult times.
