About me

Upon graduating with a Bachelors degree in Economics from Yeshiva University and obtaining a Degree of Rabbinic Ordination, Yitz Weiss then entered Southwestern University School of Law. There he was Associate Editor of the Southwestern Law Review, an honor reserved for the top 10% of students. Yitz graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctorate from Southwestern in 2006.

After receiving his Juris Doctorate and being admitted to the California State Bar in 2006, Yitz began his legal career with Kaplan Lee LLP.   Based on his all-around excellent work for his clients and the firm, Yitz was made a partner of Kaplan Lee in 2012.  While at Kaplan Lee, Yitz has represented clients in a wide array of legal matters, including estate planning, personal injury and product liability litigation, real estate litigation, employment counseling and litigation, wage and overtime claims, discrimination, harassment, FEHA, Unequal Pay Act, Commercial Code claims, warranty claims, fraud claims, and contract disputes. Yitz routinely serves as lead counsel in binding arbitrations and as co-counsel in major trials. Yitz excels in law and motion matters, where his exceptional research and writing skills have resulted in numerous favorable dispositions.

Yitz is a regular speaker on a variety of legal subjects, including the interplay between civil and religious law in areas such as estates, business and the Constitution.  He teaches weekly classes in law, ethics, and religion in his capacity as an associate Rabbi of a large Southern California synagogue.
