First and foremost, the question should be whether or not it will improve your health and medically beneficial. You should go over all the health-related pros and cons with your doctor. You may want to ask if you will be under local or general anesthesia, the credentials of the doctor, etc. If you and your doctor decide to go through with such an injection, it would obviously add to your medical bills. Generally speaking, the greater the amount of necessary and reasonable medical bills, the...

Like everyone else that has posted, I am assuming there was a typo. You should contact an attorney immediately. When did the accident occur? Keep in mind there is a statute of limitations, so the sooner you contact an attorney the better. Generally speaking, the higher the amount of medical bills and greater the injury, the higher the recovery. The recovery can also include pain and suffering and lost income due to the accident. I assume you are referring to spine surgery, which could be a...

You should look for a local personal injury attorney, many are listed here on avvo.com, and have them give you a consultation regarding your case. Most personal injury attorneys work on a contingency fee, which is what I believe you are referring to, which means they will not charge you up front but rather take a percentage of the settlement proceeds. Each attorney has a different retainer and fee agreement so make sure to discuss that with them.

The fact that your friend was above a .08 blood alcohol level by itself would not make officers required to offer medical assistance. Did you friend request any medical attention and was denied? Was your friend visibly sick or in obvious need of medical attention? Did your friend actually require medical attention? If he did not need any medical assistance, the police are not required to offer medical assistance to every single DUI suspect simply because they blew above a .08.

More information is needed to answer your question properly. Were you in the lane to the right of the vehicle you hit? Did you hit the back bumper of the other vehicle? How much distance was there between your vehicles when the other vehicle changed lanes? If you have proper insurance and the person is making a claim against you, your insurance company may possibly provide you with a lawyer if you are disputing the claim. If the other party is found at fault and you were injured in the...

Have you tried contacting the District Attorney's office? Generally, police and detectives hand the case over to the DA's office once their investigation is complete. In regards to custody of your children, you should speak to a local family law attorney that would be able to assist you.

Keep in mind if the car is salvaged, it has to be re-registered as such and the car will not be worth much at all if/when they try to resell it. Might not be the best idea to sink money repairing a car that won't be worth much.

If you are being sued for $150,000 it may be a good idea to speak to an attorney, at least to get a consultation. Your stated your insurance policy limit is 50/100, so if your insurance gives him $50k (which is all they are on the hook for any one person), he could come after you for the rest. This does not happen often, but it is certainly a possibility. Your insurance company will provide an attorney to defend you, but it would be wise to consult one of your own as well.

Your health is most important. Have you sought a second opinion from another doctor? Have you done a pro/con analysis on the advantages and disadvantages of surgery with your doctor? Do you have health insurance? These are important questions you should discuss with your health care professionals and attorney. Each case has a different set of facts and circumstances both medically and legally, as such, there is no set answer to what your settlement should be, especially without additional...
