        I understand that every case is unique, and that every client has his or her own needs and goals.  I also understand that all clients need to be able to reach their attorney by 'phone, to have their questions answered, and (perhaps most importantly) to be kept in the loop.  I'm always happy to let my clients know what I'm going to do for them next -- and why.

        My primary practice is and has always been felony criminal defense.  I am a member of the State Bar of California, and am admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Appellate Circuit, and United States district courts for the districts of Central and Eastern California, Arizona and Eastern Wisconsin.  I have had opinions published in the Ninth Circuit and California appellate courts.

        I have defended accused murderers, gang shot-callers and major-weight drug dealers, as well as indicted politicians and entertainers, and (on occasion) other attorneys.  I would not, of course, mention any client's name, but a Google search of my own name should provide a small sample.  All my clients, no matter what the accusation, have this in common: matched against the power of the government, they are all underdogs.  Fighting for the underdog is a comfortable role for me.  It's what I do.
