About me

  • DUIs (Alcohol, Drugs, Extreme), Drugs, Domestic Violence, Suspended License, Traffic, Restore Gun & Other Rights, Set Aside Conviction. Licensed since 1987.

  • In Cochise County since 1998 - Licensed in Arizona since 1987.

  • I have worked either exclusively, or predominantly, in the Criminal Law area for almost my entire legal career. This has included defending both adult and juvenile clients (juvenile delinquency cases) on felony and misdemeanor charges.

  • I have previously been employed in criminal defense as an assistant public defender in a large city in Pima County and also as a municipal prosecutor (three different times for two small cities) in Cochise County.  I was previously employed at three small private law firms in Cochise County from 1998 – 2005.  While at those firms I worked in criminal law and also in a variety of other areas (domestic relations/family law, landlord-tenant, contracts, civil disputes, bankruptcy, wills/trusts, employment, personal injury, guardianships/conservatorships, animal issues, dependencies (child welfare cases initiated by Child Protective Services and “private” termination of parental rights cases), discrimination/employment).

  • I have been in private practice since 2005.  From 2006-2014 much of my work was in court-appointed cases in the areas of adult and juvenile criminal defense and juvenile dependencies, pursuant to indigent defense contracts with Cochise County, Huachuca City, City of Sierra Vista, and (U.S.) Federal Court.  During this time I have also handled MVD, social security, unemployment, Section 8 Housing, personal injury cases and some domestic relations matters.

  • I love the law and I especially love criminal law.  Your criminal (court) case may resolve with a dismissal of the charge(s), or diversion/suspended prosecution, or a plea agreement, or may proceed to a jury trial or bench trial.  If there is a finding of guilt then there will be a sentencing hearing (a disposition for juveniles).  You may also need a lawyer to help you with administrative (Motor Vehicle) hearings.

  • You may need a lawyer for post-sentencing issues, such as a request to modify your performance of certain terms of your sentence.  If you are put on probation, you may face probation violation proceedings, or you may seek to modify the terms of probation, or you may even seek an early termination of your probation.

  • You may need other post-conviction relief such as a Rule 32 Post-Conviction Relief Petition to be filed.  I have also defended Forfeiture cases and represented people on executive clemency (parole) issues.

  • Starting in 2014 I have changed my practice to private-paying clients in the areas of adult and juvenile criminal law and also some MVD matters, I can competently and affordably handle these issues for you.

  • POSSIBLE PAYMENT PLANS.  EVENING AND WEEKEND HOURS.  Available 24/7.  Free 15 minute telephone discussion of issues (Arizona Criminal/Traffic cases only, while "supplies" last, other restrictions may apply).

  • Don’t pay a lawyer for his/her expensive overhead and prime office-space rent.  Don’t make the mistake of hiring a lawyer who is burnt out or hates being a lawyer.  Pay a lawyer for skill, know-how, enthusiasm and dedication.  I use my legal experience and knowledge to help my clients resolve their criminal and selected other issues as favorably as possible.  Some lawyers may promise you a certain outcome – this is unethical and should be reported to the State Bar immediately!   I cannot promise you a certain outcome, but I can let you know the pros and cons of your case and possible options and outcomes.  What I can promise you is that if I am your lawyer, I will use my legal training, experience and skills to give you 100% of my effort in representing you in your legal matters.
