Until 2001, I was a partner at one of the largest law firms in Arizona where they liked to charge high hourly rates and big legal fees. I left for several reasons:
I am the sole creator of my website at www.keytlaw.com, which has had over 4 million visitors 2006 - 2009, and which now averages around 100,000 visitors a month because it contains a ton of useful information about Arizona and federal law.
In September of 2009, I started a law blog that had 65,000 visitors in May of 2010. In June of 2010, I started another blog called IRA LLC Law to inform people about the law applicable to IRA money to make self-directed investments through LLCs.
For more information about my areas of practice, my education, background and legal experience, see my biography/resume.
Before law school, I spent six years in the United States Air Force. I was fortunate to have flown the F-4 Phantom supersonic fighter-bomber for five years, including combat missions over North Vietnam, South Vietnam and Laos in 1972. See my website called "Another Life: Flying the F-4."
I've been married to my college sweetheart since 1972. We have three wonderful kids. Katie is one of my legal assistants and the KEYTLaw girl in the above video. My son is a CPA who just finished his first year of law school. My oldest daughter is a Southwest flight attendant whose husband is a Southwest pilot. She is the mother of our two grandchildren.
