About me

Mike King is a founding partner of Gammage and Burnham. His practice
emphasizes creditors' rights and construction issues, but also includes
consulting and supervising throughout the firm's areas of business.
These areas include emphasis on creditors' rights, including bankruptcy
cases, general litigation, lender liability litigation, loan
documentation, workouts, foreclosures and forcible detainers as well as
deficiency collection and accounts collection. His client list includes
banks, mortgage companies, distributors in various industries, and
leasing companies.

Mr. King is experienced in handling large
lawsuits involving complex legal issues from crop damage claims and
construction litigation to sophisticated Uniform Commercial Code cases.

His
real estate practice includes construction, lending and finance,
development, leasing and sales of retail, office, hotel, residential,
multi-family and industrial properties and planned communities, as well
as litigation in these areas.

Mr. King also represents
construction clients including architects, engineers, contractors and
material suppliers, in lien and bond claims and other litigation, as
well as in contract negotiation and preparation. He is a co-author of
the Arizona Construction Law Practice Manual & supplement published
by the State Bar of Arizona.

In addition Mr. King represents
clients in the organization and structure of corporations, partnerships
and other businesses including shareholder agreements and annual
meetings and filings.

Representing lenders and other clients in
commercial lending and corporate finance areas, such as stock
acquisitions and asset purchases, as well as representing parties to
construction loans, semi-permanent loans and long-term financing is
also included in Mr. King's practice.

Mr. King also advises
clients on day-to-day business transactions, preparing and perfecting
security interests, preparing sales and license agreements,
distribution agreements, credit agreements, copyright and trademark
applications, other intellectual property matters, employment
agreements and advice on labor and other issues.

Mr. King has
been continuously listed in the Best Lawyers in America for both
Construction Law and Commercial Litigation since 2007. He was also
recognized in Southwest Super Lawyers in 2007 for Bankruptcy &
Creditor Rights. He also has been named one of Arizona's Best Lawyers by Arizona Business magazine for two consecutve years and was recognize as a Top Lawyer by Litigation 2009, A supplement to The American Lawyer & Corporate Counsel American Registry.


 


An  active participant in his community he was awarded  the ames F Sullivan Lifetime Achievement Award for leadership and highest of standards among credit professionals. Mr. King is involved with many community non profits including:  president of the Washington Elementary School District; Valley of the Sun YMCA; Scottsdale Convention and Visitors Bureau, Phoenix Rotary 100,Leukemia Foundation of Arizona; Desert Mission Neighborhood Renewal; as well as being involved with many committtes of  University of Arizona and being recognized for his efforts with the Distinguished Citizen Award from the alumni association.
